Not certain how many here are watching the circus that is Donald Trump's arraignment. One interesting point put forward by a former Supreme court judge was mentioned on Sky news this morning.
All former presidents get security cover for life from secret service agents. If Tango man goes to jail then the agents will also have to go to jail so that they can continue to protect him.
So Trump can get jail time for paying hush money, and yes I know he shouldn't have declared it as a business expense but over here a rapist gets a community service as he's "too young to go to jail" at the time of the offence he was 17 she was 13

Just to clarify, that applies to Trump getting jail time for the offence currently charged with. On the other hand, it could also apply to a 17 year old rapist getting away with a non-custodial sentence. But in this specific case he has, and its been noted as being 'exceptional'. I would expect a sentence appeal for it being too lenient, and quite possibly replaced with a custodial sentence. The fact that particular case is news is precisely because the sentence is unusual i.e. it is not the expected norm and is therefore newsworthy. And might get overturned.

Trying to cover up what you did brings far more problems than the original action.

He is also appealing, against the conviction I assume.

I wonder if she resigned because she could see the writing on the wall?

Trumplethinskin's supporters seem to be as comedic as ever.

I think - though I might be wrong - that if the convicted person appeals against the sentence the ruling can in fact lead to a harsher sentence if the appeal rules such.

The US is "going to hell", Donald Trump has said in a defiant address after pleading not guilty to falsifying business records to hide damaging information ahead of the 2016 election.
What he forgot to mention was that the downhill path started just after he became president.
