Ian Blackford stepping down as an MP at the next election. Not suprising given that the guy always came across as a chancer, and serial failure. Caroline Lucas standing down at next election. Another serial failure bites the dust

Mixed feelings from me. He did what was asked of him by the British electorate in 2016. But on Covid, leadership was lacking. If he himself and his close circle were willing to take risks at debatable work parties, why did he feel he had to remove that element of choice among the wider population?

I'm more inclined to think ND went in a strop because she didn't get elevated to the lords in Boris's resignation honours. She came across quite badly last Night "I've been an MP for X years, and was in the department of health throughout covid, so I've done a lot more for the country than some that sit in the lords"

Can't remember exactly which it was but either:
- Boris put her on the list, but it was rejected by the people that vet the list, or
- Boris promissed to put her on the list, but then had a change of heart.
