How the mighty have fallen.
Just a week ago India were celebrating winning the mens T20 cricket world cup. Today they were soundly beaten by Zimbabwe.
They being a somewhat subjective term ... were any of those players at the T20 ... cursory glance & only Gill is a familiar name

Cyclist stops in the middle of a time trial to kiss his wife? What a muppet Not in the context of grand tour cycling ... he's a domestique so there to support his leader & go for stage wins ... he has no chance of winning a TT stage so his time is irrelevant. He's not riding for a GC contender team so he could basically walk round & it wouldn't matter. His job is to show the jersey and get the sprinter to the last 1k of a sprint stage & inside the cutoff on a mountain stage

Cyclist stops in the middle of a time trial to kiss his wife? What a muppet well that's what I initially thought. Until I read the detail. He clearly wasn't a contender either for the stage or the GC. The point at which he stopped was at the summit of a climb. His speed at that point was therefore close to zero - well not actually, it would have been had it been me, but the point is made, it was the closest to 'already stopped' he could have been. It was all pre-planned. I watched it on the highlights: I reckon he lost a handful of seconds on his time at most, so the difference it made to anything was the square root of nothing. I think it was just one of those lovely eccentricities that the Tour throws up.

And to get things in perspective Zimbabwe has about 8m people to choose from India over 700m (minus the 11 that played in Barbados the week before).

I remember a Vuelta stage (probably about 8 years ago now) where a breakaway got about 40 mins up the road. The Peloton (full of the GC riders) didn't put up any chase and all finished outside the time cut. Because there were so many, the commissaires had to re-admit them all to the race but were none to pleased about it.

Murray and Radacanu playing together in the mixed doubles. I have no idea whether they'll be any good but it put a smile on my face . But apparently not any more. Oh, I certainly didn’t expect the “dream match” affair ended so quickly before the real thing starts. Has someone been “ghosted”?

Radacanu is injury prone, and having done well so far in the tournament I suspect she thinks playing in the doubles will prejudice her progression in the singles.
I think it was Anabel Croft that said people don't relaise how tiring tennis is if you're still in the competition in week 2.

Ah, but there's so much opportunity for implications about bouncy cuddles between them...

So sport has immediately burst any significant feel good factor post election 😁
Football team still playing badly if winning (despite upgrade in quality of PMs team) Rugby team lost Nearly all UK players knocked out of singles & dream team no more. Cav hasn't won another stage.
Maybe the F1 will bring the feel good factor.

You omitted the England Legends T20 cricket team getting stuffed by Australia at Edgbaston yesterday (and probaby by Pakistan today) - still can't work out how somebody called O'Brien is in our team.
But on a brighter note, 3 Brits in the top 3 qualifying spots in F1. What could possibly go wrong.

Football team still playing badly if winning (despite upgrade in quality of PMs team): Rugby team lost: Ummm, and Smith missed 3 kicks didn't he ? Nearly all UK players knocked out of singles & dream team no more. Ah, but Emma is still in the fight (just, as I write). Even if we'll miss the spectacle of her playing with Andy Murray. Cav hasn't won another stage. Yet
Maybe the F1 will bring the feel good factor: You ask, Hamilton delivers (however improbable those words sound currently)

Polls are closed in the French elections and exit polls are showing the far left with most seats, followed by Macron's mob in second place. Far right National Rally trailing in third place.

Far right National Rally trailing in third place. it's a deep state conspiracy to thwart the democratic will of the people. I thought I'd just get that in before a one or more sock puppets pop up and say so.
