There is also the fact that facts don't remain facts. Many years ago it was taken as fact that the Sun revolved around the earth. It was (mostly) taken as that, true, but could not be scientifically verified as such*. Now it can be. * - actually, only in Christian cultures - the Greeks knew the earth rotated around the sun nearly 2,000 years before Copernicus. That's why verification is important. And, yes, all verification is caveated with "to the best of our current knowledge". Keith is right, facts don't remain facts. If you studied any philosophy you would know that when it comes to it we don't know anything and can't prove anything. Verification is meaningless as it just means it is verified now but that could change. It is believed that certain insects only know about two dimensions. If they crawl around on a piece of paper and you move that paper somewhere else, they don't know about it. Similarly, when we discover the 17th dimension, we might completely dismiss the notion of the earth rotating around the sun. For lots of reasons. For one it may just happen to do so NOW but is on course to change its path for a lot longer. A second maybe something to do with that illusive 17th dimension we haven't discovered yet and we may be like the insects "incorrectly" believing this earth/sun rotation. In all cases, we cannot be sure we are correct now and thus verification is pretty meaningless.

Still waiting for the explanation of what is misleading about the 20.15% statement it's because of the 17th dimension. Apparently. Where presumably we also find out the meaning of Working People.

I think it’s better guess what’s not “working people”?
- People get only free stuffs from government - anything that could get a tax return but not people

Given that's a complete diversion ... I'll take that as cant

Some people think the earth is flat, and not verified to be a sphere. Some people think that mankind travelling into space and walking on the moon is a lie, and not a verified fact. Some people think that covid was a lie, and not a verified fact. Some people think that Biden's victory in the 2020 US election was a lie, and not a verified fact. Some people believe that Putin is not a militaristic expansionist thug, in the face of all verified evidence. Some people believe a lot of things that they've been spoonfed as "verified facts" by the malicious and those with an agenda.

I woke up this morning and found this random article. According to this Happy City Index, Bristol in England ranked #7 on this planet. Edinburgh 15, London 33, Manchester 56, Reading 81, Southampton 111, Glasgow 134, MK 157, Cambridge 179, Liverpool 185, Leeds 196 - and that's it for the 250 they publish. I like Brizzle a lot - but wouldn't want to live there. Or, indeed, any city. And definitely not sure I'd put Reading THAT much higher than Cambridge...

Someone should tell this happy clappy band of students the word is 'methodology'. They've used it incorrectly throughout the article, too. Difficult to take them seriously.

In true fact verification mode, do you have something against Oxford, 176? Agree about Reading, and a little shocked Cardiff never made the cut. I'd place both above Johannesburg, but I use a different metholodogy.
