The idea that Le Pen (paid for with Russian money) wins makes me want to vomit.
What do we have to do to make the Germans stop giving Putain so much money?
Vote projections suggest Macron secured about 28% of the first round vote compared with about 23% for far right candidate Le Pen. Far-left candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon may have come third with about 20% of the vote.
So is it a gimme that the far left 20% will go to Macron in round 2?

I'd say 50% will go to macron, the rest will abstain
The far right vote will go en masse to Le Pen, she is by no means far right compared to Zemmour, and I think it is disingenuous of the BBC etc to suggest she is her policies are becoming much more centrist

I listened carefully to the BBC this am and they very carefully described Le Pen's political position correctly.

"One analyst called Le Pen’s tactic of appearing softer in person than her policy proposals a “masterclass”."
A leopard doesn't change its spots - but it may very well try to camouflage them...

Confused? No, article is about Nord 2 but map is about other pipelines. I obviously didn't scroll down far enough. I just saw the first map.

I do have this weird idea that Le Pen wins and she tries to bring in a fine for women wearing head scarfs, in France..... think about it.

Having read her policies they would resonate with a lot of people in the UK
EG
If elected, she pledges to scrap income tax for those aged under 30, to cut VAT on energy from 20 per cent to 5.5 per cent and to zero for essential products such as pasta and nappies as long as inflation is one point higher than growth.
She has pledged no employer contributions on pay rises of up to 10 per cent and early retirement at 60 for those who have worked 40 years, as well as a rise in basic pensions.
No benefits unless you are a citizen, remove citizenship, if immigrant and out of work> 12 months repatriate those who commit crimes
A lot of those policies would appeal to many on the left and the right in the UK

Things like a Le Pen victory would be great in so far as its a knee jerk to complacency and even to demonstrate that no, it doesn't work or maybe, yes, it does....
