But she can't be sent to prison because "There is an inflammatory disease in her stomach which she believes will shortly be diagnosed as Crohn's disease. She is significantly unwell with it at times, and if she were in prison that disease may not be easily attended to"

But she can't be sent to prison because "There is an inflammatory disease in her stomach which she believes will shortly be diagnosed as Crohn's disease. She is significantly unwell with it at times, and if she were in prison that disease may not be easily attended to"...according to her defence barrister, who would not have been doing his job if he wasn't trying his hardest to minimise the sentence handed to her (having persuaded the silly mare to plead guilty, because she was blatantly bang to rights). But the judge didn't buy a word of it, and put her inside for 31 months. "The judge, Recorder Matthew Porter-Bryant, denied the barrister's call for a suspended sentence. He took into account the absence of previous convictions, the impact prison would have on Jones' family and the court delays she had already been through, but he said the offences were "significant and serious" enough for immediate custody. Jones sobbed as the judge imposed a 31-month jail term. "

But, I _would_ expect her to have committed child neglect related offences if she hadn't put in place proper arrangements for the children.

The Depp-Heard trial - all waiting the verdict only to find the Jury hadn't filled the form in correctly.

But Elon Musk can call somebody a pedo and it doesn't even get to court.

Gawd knows how much they spent on legal fees.
Ms Heard says the judge and Jury influenced by Depps power etc so not because some of her evidence was lies.

Depp's former attorney defamed Amber Heard and she was awarded $2m, but Depp has to pay it?

It did go to Court but Musk won ... basically because he deleted it & apologised so the defamation was undone. Defamation is a very hard claim in US

yes "he defamed her by his Attorneys statement" The punitive damages reduced to $350,000

yes "he defamed her by his Attorneys statement" The punitive damages reduced to $350,000 Thats punitive damages payable by Heard due to State statute, there were no punitive damages awarded against Depp (You may know that but post is ambiguous)

Scotland Stunned By UkraineBit like Putin then. Good to see Scotland roll over in the interests of the moral of a sufferring nation. Oh, wait I moment, they were just being their normal s*** selves. I shouldn't gloat, and had they made it through to the actual comp I'm sure I would have cheered them on. But given how much the Scots always seem to want to see England beaten I find it difficult not to at least chuckle. Had Russia still been eligible, and if England came up against them, I bet half of Scotland would still be secretly wanting England to lose.

Yes very tribal, as a Man United fan I wanted Liverpool to win champions league final, I will always support any British team against Johnny Foreigner. yet I know others whose hatred of Liverpool is so deep they'd rather a British team didn't win. This would only change if a British team came up against the mighty OFI Crete

My ambivalence at football is on a par with my ambivalence at the platty joobs. (Platty joobs being Platinum Jubilee). Oh well, each to his own. Queen Elizabeth has been on the throne my entire life and a bit more. That blows my mind. And she's never put a foot wrong in all that time. What a service ethic, and what an example to others. She's been caring and likeable as our Queen and will be a difficult act to follow. Hearty congratulations to you, Your Majesty (from most of us anyway!).

Queen Elizabeth has been on the throne my entire life and a bit more. Well, that applies to anybody 70 or under... One of my earliest primary school memories is being given a huge pencil and a pencil tin that it didn't fit into, for the Silver Jub. I don't think I'd go QUITE that far. I've never met her, and am unlikely to, but I'm sure she's a very nice old lady. Some of her family leave quite a bit to be desired, but then doesn't that apply to everybody? Especially when the family's been brought up drenched in wealth and privilege. But it's not as if she has a real job. She gets to sign laws EXACTLY where the government tell her to. Then she gets to smile, cut ribbons, shake hands and make small talk with people she would probably far rather avoid like the plague - and maybe wonder if the world always smells of fresh paint for everybody, too.
