Is the field in the picture where James Marshall played when he was a tot?

Interesting that the 4 X 250 acres of Bedfordshire farmland is accompanied by a pretty picture of Buckinghamshire countryside. And this weeks contestant on 'Name that Field' is...! Take it we can add panoramic vistas of agricultural land to bananas & canal boats as your specialist subjects How about this one? I know that field, I recognise the clouds.

The clouds are, apparently, not included in the valuation. Any rain falling out might be though (under liquid assets? *groan*). Doesn't look like any part of Bedfordshire I'm (once upon a time) familiar with though ..

I've corrected my ID to somewhere near Greenhithe now. I know the photographer, the camera and the date it was taken (June 23 2008). Watch this space

OK, I won't be doing this as a game while loans are sparse on SS and AC and ABL and MT etc. The image is looking approximately south-south-east from the A226 London Road just opposite the little bungalow. Photographer grid reference TQ58417462. Photographer Savodeb Banerjee on June 23 2008, using a Nokia N95 8GB. You won't see this view again as it has been built over since that photo was taken. Also please see image No 2, copyright Ken Brown (CC licensed for reuse), taken on 25 June 2008 The third image has been nicked from the streetview today - date of image unknown. Great fun, UK landscape image location ID-ing Can be time consuming though. I haven't had much luck yet isolating the Buckinghamshire image location. Edit. Got it! The "SS Bedfordshire" image is a picture of the Vale of Aylesbury looking down from the edge of the Chiltern Hills.

And there was me thinking that SS had been cheeky buggers and changed the image! However; the image they are using is definitely not Bedfordshire, as I have pointed out in my post above. I’ll let oldgrumpy pinpoint it as he seems to be having fun!

cooling_dudeYep. Vale of Aylesbury, I've got two fixes on the fields now, so should be able to triangulate a grid refernce for the photographer position later, if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Meanwhile the Scottish boatyard loan, location of image to be confirmed by CSI Grumps, is apparently being renewed on FS, so interesting to see what happens to SS one

Another one off the list of SS upcomings, then. Shame. SS had the right picture, too

They should have used the following image, and we would be fighting over it on the SM already.......

cooling_dude Yep. Vale of Aylesbury, I've got two fixes on the fields now, so should be able to triangulate a grid reference for the photographer position later, if someone else doesn't beat me to it. The "Bedfordshire" fields are east of Ivingoe (Buckinghamshire), around grid ref SP952155, looking down from the Ridgeway on the north side of Pitstone Hill, photographer grid ref close to SP95241466. Sorry I took so long. Went to the pub instead. I look forward to future SS illustrations. Good game To be kind to SS, Bedfordshire is only about two and a half miles away to the north-west (and Hertfordshire less than a mile to the south). The area shown in the picture is centred in a narrow part of Buckinghamshire poking out to the east. Attachments:
