I've always liked Donald Sutherland, especially his earlier stuff. I remember he was in an episode of The Avengers, and he was also in Don't Look Now and Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and Klute, all great films. A great actor, and father of Kiefer. RIP.

Vincent Duggleby.
Not only because he had a name that was instantly recognisable but also because he explained personal and business finance in a way that even I could understand.
One of the BBC's finest journalists, perhaps?
That was a good innings, Sir.

Jay Slater, poor lad. And all the other people who have had the misfortune to lose their lives in Europe's heatwave conditions and difficult terrain. At least half a dozen.

Bob Newhart, at a ripe old age. Genuinely funny, humour that is timeless. I could listen to any of those sketches from The Buttoned Down Mind and I'd still laugh out loud. He seemed genuinely nice. Id definitely invite him to my Afterlife Party, along with Mae West, also eternally funny.

was thinking funny isn't it anyone else apart from snooker players become world champions get lots of awards ( CBE MBE OBE etc ) he was world champion 6 times and gets nothing, not saying it was because of his humble background but he certainly deserved an award a lot more than some. Harry Kane who has won nowt gets an MBE

Originally from Wales, he left school at 14 and was a miner in Stoke-on-Trent, along with his dad, and then a policeman. He had a snooker club in Stoke-on-Trent for a while, called Reardon's, unsurprisingly. His nickname was Dracula, because of his widow's peak, which I always thought was brilliant and really funny. He was playing at a time when there were a lot of characters in snooker, back in the 70's. And everyone smoked! Farewell Ray, you were great and a good ambassador for the game.
