RIP Raquel Welch died aged 82
The thing I always remember about her is that her son Damon was married to cricket legend Fred Trueman's daughter Rebecca. Can't imagine two more different families (I appreciate that other people may remember her for other things)
Wasn't she the lady on the poster on the wall of whatsisname's cell in The Shawshank Redemption, concealing the hole he'd been making? I seem to remember her furry bikini, she looked most fetching in it, maybe that's why it's stayed in my mind. Good old Raquel, they don't make them like her anymore. And Gina Lollabrigida, also recently deceased. Proper movie stars, with glamour and a broad appeal to both men and women. Yep that's her. When I was a kid I absolutely loved dinosaur films (still do!), but after watching "One Million Years BC" I had forgotten all about the reptiles; all I could remember was that furry bikini.

Motty used to drink at my local. Quiet, unassuming chap, entirely happy to mix with us plebs. Drove a basic Mondeo, nothing pretentious about him.
And that unmistakable voice...

Richard "Dickie" Davies
Not sure I remember this even being announced
for those of us of a certain age "World of sport" on a Saturday afternoon, Dickie Davies with his black hair with the white patch was iconic.
Giant Haystacks Vs Big Daddy in the wrestling, a country mile from the so obviously choreographed WWE etc.

Great fun. Giant Haystacks, what an absolute unit! The only person I've ever seen who needed to stoop down AND turn sideways to get through the doorway...
