Match of the Day viewing figures up by 500,000Lolz (though I suspect simple rubbernecking may explain the rise).

Look, I'm all in favour of free speech and all that, but I wonder where Mr Lineker's career would be at this moment if he'd have made negative comments about the footballing ability of your average female, or that ex-male transgender players should be barred from all female dressing rooms. His career would be so far down the pan you'd need Dinorod to find him.

I have come to the conclusion "The Woke Left" has alot in common with a religion and its followers act alot like religious zealots. I think their extreme and irrational hatred of anyone who disagrees with them is alot like the allegations of Heresy and Devil Worship that were thrown about by the Church and its devotes in the middle ages.

You don't have to, you can choose your source from any media outlet or even the official BARB numbers they are all based on ... all identical.

Doesn't really matter, as long as he shows he's not controlled or managed by the BBC like an employee then it helps his case against HMRC.

I wonder what the figures have been each week for the past 52 weeks. I suspect they fluctuate considerably.

Just sack him.. same with shearer and wright.. i watch MOTD cos its a good programme, it tells me the footy results, shows me the ins and outs of the footballing day, i doubt many people watch MOTD because of Lineker and his ilk, he signed a contract which will have included a clause to be impartial, whether he understood it or not, he's clearly not impartial, he's a left wing wokie, the BBC should just get a back bone and send him on his way.

So IYHO "impartial" means "agrees with government, no matter what"? Does that apply to all policies from governments of all shade? Are the UN "left wing wokies"? Should Lineker have been sacked when he made seriously disparaging comments about the Qatari government's human rights record, or does impartiality stop at Dover? (BTW, the BBC's impartiality policy applies equally to high-profile off-screen as well as on-screen personnel. Is donating hundreds of thousands of pounds to a political party and doing large personal favours for senior party figures "impartial", or only while they're in government?)

I watch MOTD about 2/3 weeks, and being honest without the Pundits rewinding incidents over and over again I found it much more enjoyable.

Or, perhaps more comprehensively: Lineker 1 (og BBC)- BBC 0 might not be long before it becomes: Linekar 1 (og BBC) - BBC 0 - Richard Sharp -2 (ogs HMG: assists Penny Mordaunt, Lee Anderson)

Seems more rugby than football ... sent to the sinbin, team did ok without him & now he's back on the pitch under the same rules as before.
Let's see what he has to say about Tunisia ... which must be safe ground for all parties
