personally I'm with octopus energy now, (i was with avro but they went bust) never had a direct debit or a smart meter... i log on every month, give them my readings, they tell me how much i owe them, and i pay it... why would anyone want a smart meter... or ALEXA for that matter.

I have an interesting story about how my next door neighbour had her meter changed and a smart meter installed...................... and i got 21 months of free electricity.  |

I simply fail to understand why you don't unplug the smart meter, send it back telling them it does not work and log on to your account and give them a meter reading. LOL you are not allowed to interfere with meters either gas or electric and certainly you can't remove them

When they replace your imperial gas meter with a metric don't have a heart attack when you put in your first meter readings. It goes up three times faster with metric compared to imperial.

how? a meter reading is a meter reading ... no matter how its measured imperial or metric... you get charged for what you use.. how can you pay three times more?

You can't it's an offence, you can remove or unplug the IHD but that's not the meter there is no law it the uk that says you have to have a smart meter... just because your supplier says it is so.. does not make it a law... stand up for your rights.
