Say what you want about our politicians but when needed like on gun control they work together for us.
having said that I was having a discussion with one of my American friends he keeps 6 guns in the house including 2 assault rifles and 10,000 rounds of ammunition. When I asked about gun control his reply was "they will take my guns from my cold dead hands, you need guns for protection".
When I asked if the second amendment was changed to limit types and capacities, the response was telling "you can't change an amendment to the constitution"
The pro gun group in America can't get their heads round why we don't feel the need to have a weapon capable of killing dozens of people in a minute.
IMHO the NRA has more blood on it's hands
Also telling Finland an Serbia both have gun ownership rates at about 1/3 of the US, as far as I'm aware neither of those has an issue with massacres in schools.

AIUI, there's about 75 amendments proposed by Congress every year - with 27 so far having made it through the full ratification process (the first ten in 1791, the most recent in 1992), with four others passed but pending full ratification - one of those since 1789...

You cant' change it ... for me I suppose that the issue probably is Democrats force Gun control through, the next Republican leaderships would be under huge pressure to reverse it. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.I think I know what was meant, but that is not how it is interpreted
