Thanks, I to have poor brickwork ect and have been doing repairs over a few years and have annoying damp issues. Have eliminated roof and damp corse issues, and it appears now to be porus brickwork. This sounds the perfect product. What coverage like, and is it visible.? ,

This sounds the perfect product. What coverage like, and is it visible.? , Coverage varies with texture. There are charts on the website for rough v smooth...I did a part order to assess coverage before calculating quantities for the whole house and got 3.6m2/litre (need 2 coats) but enthusiastic application of the primer/stabilizer layer probably helped. Re colours, I've done the paint ("facade coating" in ProPerla-speak) in a pre-mix colour (with Zinsser All Coat tinted to match on pipework, cable trunking, fascias etc.). It's a perfect cover matt finish. The cream version supposedly goes on semi-opaque white and absorbs in an hour or 2 to invisible (video on the website I think)...it's a much easier application routine; one coat only and no primer - costs twice the price though. I'm only choosing it for high invisible areas because it *is* easier, and if I change my mind then too bad because apparently you can't ever paint over it. As with the paint system, really strict prep essential and you have to use the whole system for lifetime guarantee. The trustpilot reviews are worth reading and their tech department can also probably give you some advice too.

Hmm, winter preparations.... Thermostat dials still rotate - check. Supply of Green Ginger wine for the whisky macs - check. A seven year old house with excellent insulation and 'B' EPC rating has its upsides .

I am at 110m and spent most of the day in cloud.
No fire yet this autumn and my wood pile looks reasonably good.

Not wanting to teach you to suck eggs, but if you are running a dehumidifier most of the time, do you have a heat a heat pump tpe, although a bit more expensive you get about 1.6kW of heat out for each kW input and although 1.6kW is low it would help heat the house

Planted the over wintering cabbages and cauliflowers for the spring, hopefully if a bad winter doesn't kill them.

I have the best sprouts and red cabbage I've had for years, loads of beans and fruit in freezer.

I have the best sprouts and red cabbage I've had for years, loads of beans and fruit in freezer. I have the best display of ripening holly berries that I have seen for years. I think the very cold spell last winter must have triggered them.
The blackbirds have already started on the cotoneasters which are not yet ripe but are plentiful.
But that cold almost did for the lemon tree and several other plants expired.
The slugs and snails have taken a while to get going and the number of wasps has been pretty low.
I am, though, breeding some monster spiders!
The harvestmen are also in abundance which is nice to see.
The bonfire had an outing last night. First of the season. Greta would have fumed...

I've had loads of insects in my garden this year, but there appears to be a bit of a demarcation dispute. My alstroemeria plants have been covered with Bees all summer long, but the wasps won't touch them. They all go for the hardy geraniums
