Clearing out a cupboard the other day I found 5 old first class stamps. That's £6.75 I'll never see again. Somebody sent me a letter the other day with an old stamp on. That's £2.50 I'll never see again... PM me your address and I'll send you 5 more.

There's currently no cut off for the swappage scheme. If you use a lot of stamps the cheapest way to buy them is by buying old presentation packs off eBay.

Presumably you just use them rather than swapping out as my interpretation is that themed stamps are still valid.

The only ones you definitely cannot use are the ones with just the Queen's head on them.
I've already sent off a couple of hundred pounds worth and have another £430 to be sent. Thing is, what do I do with £500 of 2nd class stamps?

I got given them in exchange for posting and receiving letters to see how the Royal Mail were performing. I was going to the P.O daily so it wasn't much extra work for me. I didn't anticipate accumulating so many. I run a business selling on eBay so I could buy them off myself and use them for postage.

I could've told them that for much less than £500

Could I join the reviewing club? I also wonder what RM does with your data?

I also wonder what RM does with your data? Loses it in the post. Actually, with all seriousness, I've been very impressed with them of late. With one of my several hats on, I'm involved with sending about 1,600 A4 items out per month. It's not every month even one goes amiss, and in eighteen months, I don't think I've sent out more than a couple of replacements in any single month. There's ONE that goes amiss regularly - and it's clearly a last-mile local delivery issue in France...

Glancing at eBay last night, I see that some vendors are offering mixed mint commemorative issues (still legal to use) for sale. A bagful with a face value of, say, £200 would be likely to sell for just over half that. Not that I would have much use for them, indeed I'm wondering whether I'll ever use the £30-worth or so of new 1st and 2nd class stamps I got from the swap out. I've probably only posted three items so far this year.
