- Man gives £20,000 to company he's never heard of before
- Company say they will invest the money with people who need project finance
- Company only give money to people who pledge their assets as security, and where the value of these assets is well in excess of the amount loaned
- No money is repaid to investors
- Company goes bust
All sounds a bit familiar, but it's not P2P but a company called Cauta Capital Limited

In theory, the move to electricity from renewable sources should be a profitable venture for UK companies.
After all, the UK has some of the most expensive electricity in the world.
And the symbiosis between Thames and Trinzic should have worked.
But something is going wrong. Lots of these companies are trading at well below their net asset value and some are cutting their dividends.

www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/07/17/council-apologises-failing-count-more-6500-election-votes/6500 votes not counted, due to a spreadsheet error I'm sure these things didn't happen when people added up manually Wonder what would happen if the result had changed. Also changing numbers after the event surely the result as announced by the "returning officer" is official not after further checking etc. what would be the position is B gets 5.01% of the votes as announced but then when the missing votes counted B only has 4.5% in this case 6500 is quite a lot of votes and would be quite a stack, so why did no agent candidate etc say what about that heap in the corner

So even if it doesn't effect the ourcome it still means a party could lose out.

Non-paywalled... www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjm9yye7ldwo"Labour's Fleur Anderson held the south London seat in the 4 July contest, receiving what was announced on the night as 20,952 against Conservative Lee Roberts' total of 10,011. ... The missing votes did not affect the overall result, with Ms Anderson still emerging as the winner and with a larger majority of 12,488 votes over Mr Roberts. She received a total of 24,113 votes, while Mr Roberts received 11,625. Third-placed Kieren McCarthy, the Liberal Democrat candidate, saw his total increase from 5,189 to 5,943."
Uncounted votes spread across all candidates - so sounds not like a counting error (they are hand-counted) but a box or two misplaced. The "spreadsheet error" was probably in tracking which boxes had been emptied and which hadn't.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ced3z8kx9eqofor me the coach driver is well out of order but 7 teachers is a ratio of about 6-1 they should be keeping the kids in order and stopping them getting up and making sure they have seatbelts on Why do kids ( and adults ) these days think its ok to make everything messy, I spoke to someone recently who was on a flight that had previously taken a load of kids on a school trip and their flight back was delayed because the plane was such a mess that it took far longer than normal to clean. 16 is minimum age to smoke and 18 to buy, again why did the teachers not pull the kids up "Teachers asked the driver to moderate his language" how about the teachers getting the kids to behave

"was taken to hospital on Thursday by prison staff after being taken unwell. He had been on remand for burglary offences at the Victorian-era jail in Hammersmith."that to me says he burgled the prison " was taken to hospital on Thursday by prison staff after being taken unwell. He had been on remand at the Victorian-era jail in Hammersmith for burglary offences"that is a lot less confusing
