Went to Morrisons supermarket today with 2 vouchers for 10 percent off purchases at both the dairy counter and newspapers/magazines.
Bought next weeks TV guide at 82p so discount is 8.2p.
Bought a tube of Primula cheese at £1,25 so 12 pence discount.
Bought 7 cartons of iced coffee from dairy counter at a total of £8.05 so discount is 80.5p
My bill show my disount totals 0.09p
I did phone Morrisons who assured me the discount of 0.09 pence was correct but offered me a voucher for £3.00 which I refused.
If I am honest I am really tired of claims by supermarkets who try to con people into spending more. I'm sure people can offer examples of other large supermarkets who have equally spurious discount offers that don't actually exist.
I've used Morrisons's discount vouchers in the past but not checked the discount I've received. Today I've learnt a lesson that has led to me deciding to no longer shop at a Morrisons store and I've cancelled my next delivery.

Both fair points, but isn't this about having principles? How many other shoppers over the years have been hoodwinked by this company's (alleged) shady looking practice? At face value, they deserve customers to turn away and shop elsewhere, as I would. I hate feeling cheated. If a more expensive shop didn't set out to hoodwink me with phoney looking deals underpinned with reams of small print, it may cost more but I'd still prefer to shop there.
Aldi and Lidl produce dozens of lookalike brands, aiming to fool the customer that they match the quality of the real deal. It's little short of deception. Each to his own, but I won't use them.

Seems right to me voucher usually state " not to be used in conjuction with other offers" so if you had bought your iced tea first , you would have been given 80p

Must admit I get annoyed when my Sainsburys shop comes to x.99p and I get diddled out of one Nectar point.
Which is worth... 0.001p.

Morrisons recently had a 25% off 6 bottles of wine promotion but also consistently run a 2 bottles for £10 promotion. They stated in their T&Cs that the 2 for £10 was excluded from the promotion. I asked the question as to how that would work e.g. if I chose 2 bottles @£6 in the 2 for £10 promotion and say 4 standard bottles @£6 would the deal go through as 6x£6 i.e exclude the 2 for 10 discount and charge me full price = 36 so 9 discount = £27 or would it go through as 4@6 and 2@5 thus including the 2 for 10 discount and missing the 25% off 6 bottles discount i.e. £34. I couldn't get an answer from the shop floor but I suspected the latter and because they have so many mix and match in the 2 for 10 deal it was too much of a headache to try and work out bottles that were not in that deal to select so they managed to achieve 0 wine sales to me. Sainsbury's and Tesco both in the past have included the multibuy discounts as well as the 25% off so in my first example above they would have given 25% off (4x6)+(2x5)

Some good savings to be had on meat with discounts that can be frozen.

Keep an eye on the 30% off stickers at aldi... sometimes they aren't applied. Some good savings to be had on meat with discounts that can be frozen. And using the app "too good to go" gets you the same meats for the freezer at a massive discount but it's pot luck what you get and you have a collection time window for your bag/s. Recently I had one bag from Aldi at £3.30 as a tester. Over £25 of food at full price. Meats fit to freeze. Fresh, none freeze chill products, need using the same/ next day. Cooked mine into soups and froze them.

I am surprised they didn't offer up 6 bottles to the till scanner in trial mode so they (i.e. you!) could at least establish which deal applied. Maybe the tills don't have that "what if" functionality until the purchase has gone through though, by which time it's too late. Pretty galling that nobody could tell you how the offers interacted in practice, but not the slightest bit surprising.

Earlier this year in Tesco's I had a similar experience whereby I'd bought 6 bottles and the discount wasn't applied. I spent about 10 mins @ customer services whilst they undid my transaction and tried to ascertain what was causing it. The only way they could do it was scan my bottles again and each time exclude one (repeating one of the others in its place) until they identified that the discount was applied thus identifying the excluded bottle as the one not in the promotion.

Ten years ago I went to a Morrisons Store and just inside the door was an advertising poster, cant remember the product but the offer was "Buy 2 for the price of 3"

Can the deal not just be rejected if you are unhappy with what's being offered as "not as described"?
