Perhaps all their staff have given up and gone to work somewhere else. Sometimes it feels like their can't be more than 3 of them. KT 3? Cf this: From p2pindependentforum.com/thread/2796/july-london-investor-evening-15th?page=116 July 2015 * They recognise that they have a lot to do on their IT infrastructure / front end. - They are recruiting ~120 people over the next year into their IT function. 120

Wow! Well all I can say then is that they must not be good at recruitment.
Time for me to remove what little I have in FC and bow out.

Wow! Well all I can say then is that they must not be good at recruitment. Time for me to remove what little I have in FC and bow out. Some of their IT staff will be working on systems for their sales force and credit analysts, and others will be managing the network of several hundred PCs, so not the whole of the 120 and more people in the IT department are working on lender facing systems. I have a degree of reluctance to judge their IT team from the outside - I haven't worked on databases* (just explained to the people who were how to do it) or web sites professionally, so I might not understand the difficulties, but I do think they've made a meal of it, and some other companies seem to have done better. * On second thoughts I once did have to fix contractor written code, which hadn't been written to take concurrency into account.

Website seems to be back to normal. Flaky Computing is clearly still struggling. For example, there are 150+ parts of "E"-rated loan 18345 available to buy on the SM - Despite the fact that elsewhere it is shown as "processing" (because it was due to pay today and apparently hasn't yet paid.) If you've been active on the site today, make sure that your totals still add up correctly (or, at least, no worse than last time you looked)!

I guess 'The Mythical Man**-Month' must be out of Print. 8>.
**Person, Woman, large Gorilloid, etc. all to be covered by the term 'Man'.

It turns out the the 1995 edition is not only in print but is Amazon's #1 bestseller in Software Engineering. The original edition is available second-hand, for a pittance, and is the #4 bestseller. (Goodbye to my plan to sell FC a copy for £1,000.) The Kindle edition is the #8 bestseller.

Must be a reading or comprehension issue then. Or maybe technology has moved on, and 300 couples really can produce a baby in under24 hours from a clean start.

Never read that one, but it sounds plausible .. nay 'obvious'.
IME software notably obeys the main rules of engineering ('it takes longer, and costs more') due to the usual problem ('you don't know what you don't know until you find out'). Half the manager's job is keeping the marketing people reined in, and upper management off the neck of the techies, the other half is keeping the techies focussed on the spec ('spec? what spec?') while persuading them that 'bullet proof' is more desirable than 'interesting' or 'novel'. 8>.
Of course it =used= to cost a small fortune to roll out a new version by shipping media all over God's earth, so getting it wrong was a whipping offence .. these days it's way too simple to upload a new Java script and let the users pick the bones out ('after all we can always roll it back .. can't we?').

Just been booted off in the middle of browsing a loan. Tried logging in and got bounced back to the login page after entering the security question.
A repeat of the problems they had yesterday?

Website seems to be back to normal. Oh no it isn't! It refused to let me list anything for sale five minutes ago! (or even show me what remained from Sunday's sales). I'm getting there.... about 60% fcexited now.
