It'll be sorted tomorrow because they'll have to use it themselves. Meanwhile mañana - I'll go and pour a beer and light the barbecue. Happy days.

I'll see your 504 and raise you a "502 Bad Gateway" on the secondary market. Do you think they tried looking to see if the maintenance actually worked after doing it, or were just relying on "the testing team" to look at 8am this morning (that's us!). I see your 504's and 502's and raise you a good old fashioned friendly 500 Internal Server Error " Sorry, something has gone wrong and we can’t show you this page right now. Our team has been notified and will work to correct it as soon as possible. Please try again in a short while and if it still isn’t working do contact us." I wonder what 5xx http error we'll see next! ...503 anyone?(!) More likely 501 because that's what the IT team will be playing on the dart board.

The planned maintenance that Fumbling Computing conducted between 0000 and 0400 hours this morning seems to have restored all the "504 Gateway Time-out" messages that I'd not seen for a while and generally returned the site to the sort of response times that make it effectively unusable. Another round of applause for the IT team! Do you think they tried looking to see if the maintenance actually worked after doing it, Come on! Since when have IT departments checked if changes aka maintenance actually work? The performance of the site this morning is outrageously slow but don’t despair, I phoned FC and was told that “we are aware that the site is slow” although there was no mention of IT being aware or action being taken to correct the problem.

I want to put some parts up for sale, but the response time is so slow I've lost the will. Several minutes to put up a few parts. Good way of FC stopping us from reacting to the c**p platform by going elsewhere.

The site being slow is how FCIT prove that they have actually done something.

This one is entertaining. For months on Frantic Clocks' Loan Requests page, there have been no loans with 7d 0h in Time Left. Today there were eight with 7d 0h. They must have reset a clock. When I refreshed the page, those eight all said 6d 23h left. Ok, that's fair enough. But another refresh and they all went back to 7d 0h. Who needs the arrow of time, eh?

So sad that we are trapped as time-linear beings. Nice to be able to do that bit of time over again or skip the next part.

Ah, Groundhog day loans.
Reminiscent of the preferred method of paying for one's exorbitantly expensive lunch at The Restaurant at the End of the Universe:
All you have to do is deposit one penny in a savings account in your own era, and when you arrive at the End of Time the operation of compound interest means that the fabulous cost of your meal has been paid for. This, many claim, is not merely impossible but clearly insane...

Anyone else having trouble logging in this morning? One of my accounts logs in OK. The other says 'invalid password etc'. The option to get a reset email does not produce any email. Have phoned FC and they sent me the reset email which I processed but the login for that account still fails. They are consulting colleagues and will call back.
Edit: FC advised changing the uppercase letter in my username to lowercase. The log in then worked. FC: it sometimes does this; and we have made changes to the login screen. Hmmm ...

I couldn't log in this morning: username/password combination unknown.
I used the 'reset password' path, but I received no email.
Changing the two upper case letters in my email address to lower case has allowed me to log in normally.

Probably related to this, date/time stamp on "All bids" tab is showing one hour later than the bid was actually placed. Refresh the screen, and it corrects itself, refresh again and it goes back to plus one hour. How do they do this? I'm not telling Fumbling Clocks about it in case they try to correct it and bring the site to its knees again.

Starting to look like FC have given all their staff, and the autobid daemon, the day off :
- No new loans today so far on Primary Market - Primary Market stagnant - Large numbers of loan parts at par on the Secondary Market; 6100 at the time of writing
A good time if you wanted to buy some fairly recent E-rated loans up to 21.9% (caveat emptor!)

I think there are too many loans being floated in various platforms. I am thinking is too many loan pipelines but not enough credits, which may affect the liquidity of the Secondary market.

Yea clearly Autobid has been configured to scale back the secondary market buying and to focus on the primary market. unusually large number of loans on the primary Market but service will be back to normal on over the bank holiday weekend when I expect most of these to be filled.

That's entirely true, however I'm convinced that FC are up to something else. I suspect that they released the barrage of new loans on the PM yesterday in anticipation of not releasing any today. I have visions of employees lying around paralytic following FCA-approval party. Meanwhile, something has broken.
