Yep, it's much worse than it was last week. As this has only kicked up again after a relatively fine weekend, I suspect that what this is is the result of a decision to run their website data changes in the daytime when they're all in the office, whereas most organisations with an ounce of sense would run them in the wee hours to avoid disruption.
But hey we're only Flotsam Customers...

The thing which really mystifies me is 'why are you all still here, trying to use this platform?' 8>.

Yep - the website has ground to a halt. Perhaps we need a thread that alerts us to when the site actually works as its becoming the exception.............

Response received this morning to a complaint I made last week:
We are aware of a number of problems causing the slow running of the platform. This is something our technical team are working to improve.
Well, they've certainly improved the slow running today - it's slower than ever!

It still serves a purpose for me - moderate returns on non-property based loans - being maxed out on my property exposure. I have lost money on alternatives to FC, so devil you know and all that. More website "updates and improvements" ...
They came for the "Your Bids" section, and removed the ability to download your list of bids ... I said nothing as I don't bid very much any more.
Then they came for the "Loan parts" section, and now I don't seem to have a facility to sort by loan part or loan ID -- if by some chance it does sort, I can't find the latest loan parts I just acquired at either end of the list, where they used to be.
Eh?
I can only sort on Risk/Repayments/Principal/Rate/Next Payment/Status. Is that the new normal?
They also changed the format of the downloaded file (fields are in a different order), just to shake things up some more.

Website seems to be really struggling - presumably web maintenance are currently doing the salsa? It is Friday afternoon after all!

I can't download the loanbook. Presumably the computer is allowed to join in the salsa, and the table tennis?

My available funds often creep up - but that's just SM sales. What bothers me is that quite often my FC total jumps up more than expected, then I think that my SM sales have taken off, then a few hours later the total drops by £40 or £60 or £80.

Yes, I but I did discount the "E"-rated loans that someone bought from me for a buyer rate of 10% (what is the appeal? several sold at +3% today) I'm sure that FC was having some kind of post-easter processing catch-up.

Just to add that the other cause of your FC total leaping up and down in large chunks is if you happen to be involved in a FFF bunfight when some loon sells off their 12% A+ loans at par. If you see a message like 'loan part purchased for £NaN', then there's a good chance you've been afflicted and will shortly afterwards find that your total+accrued has descended by about the amount of the loan part that you've paid for and yet not actually received. The nicer, opposite, version is when unbeknownst to you some poor soul has purchased one of your loan parts, paid you, but not actually received it. I usually drop them a note when this happens, although they tend to resolve it within 24-48hrs anyway it seems (not entirely sure of that). Still, happened to me twice on Friday, and am currently circa £120 out because of it.

The planned maintenance that Fumbling Computing conducted between 0000 and 0400 hours this morning seems to have restored all the "504 Gateway Time-out" messages that I'd not seen for a while and generally returned the site to the sort of response times that make it effectively unusable. Another round of applause for the IT team!

Another round of applause for the IT team! I'll see your 504 and raise you a "502 Bad Gateway" on the secondary market. Do you think they tried looking to see if the maintenance actually worked after doing it, or were just relying on "the testing team" to look at 8am this morning (that's us!).

I see your 504's and 502's and raise you a good old fashioned friendly 500 Internal Server Error " Sorry, something has gone wrong and we can’t show you this page right now. Our team has been notified and will work to correct it as soon as possible. Please try again in a short while and if it still isn’t working do contact us." I wonder what 5xx http error we'll see next! ...503 anyone?(!)
