Simple question, how do you place shadow bids? As you can see from the attachment I am eligible but I can't seem to find the way to bid through the site. EDIT file deleted to try and use a sensible name rather than the path on my computer ......

You will need to email them. I've had occasional mails from Assetz asking me to email them to register (advance bid) on some loans. Not all though. Nothing for High Wycombe so how has old pepperpot managed an early bid?

Now there are obviously shadow bids placed already yet the shadow box is not live .....

Hmm ... I tried to answer the question as asked by the OP but interestingly others have intrepreted it as asking about "pre bids" not "shadow bids" (edited to add - and it turns out the question was about both
Pre bids need to be requested via email after either funding your account with the required amount, or requesting that the pre bid is placed as a shadow bid (assuming that there is enough headroom in the shadow bid account). Hope that makes sense

AIUI pre bids are allowed for all loans over £250k. Shadow bidding is a bit of a vague concept at present, AC did say they would consider making it a more formal scheme in due course.

Thank you. I think the staff may not be in the office for a pre bid on High Wycombe for Boxing Day so I'll take my chances on that one! Haven't seen any opinions yet.

As for shadow bids in general, what do people think of opening it up to more people but keep it as a percentage (10%?) of committed funds and maybe lower the minimum required to say 1k. It would be an excellent way of minimizing the drawdown delays and would be a big usp of assetz?

We are actively looking into this already but are awaiting clarification on a couple of points from our compliance and legal depts in relation to procedures for if / when people don't pay to settle their shadow bids. Depending on the solution we choose this could either be a really quick project to implement or it could be quite involved necessitating a longer lead time. I'll keep you posted but hopefully it's something we can do in Q1 next year. To help clarify things pre-bidding and shadow bidding are two independent concepts with separate permissions. So you can be authorised to place pre-bids (or be an admin of the site and place them on behalf of someone else); you can be authorised to place shadow bids up to a certain limit; or you can have both. To place a shadow pre-bid you'd need to be in the 'both' camp.

Whilst I'm sure you've given it this thought, but would AC allow shadow bid limits to be related to levels already invested by a lender. The higher already committed, the higher the shadow limit. Also, If a lender defaults, AC can have legal authority to sell current units owned to retrieve shadow bids committed but not repaid?

This is one of the solutions we're looking in to - I quite like it but it needs investigation along with other possible solutions.
