I disagree. 6% is not a standard high street savings rate. The standard high street saving rate is around 1%.
6% is a gimmick headline 'teaser' by HSBC to get people to open current accounts so they can cross sell products. After one year they automatically transfer your money to an account paying next to nothing.

I'm guessing there will be some market disruption - loans that have been hard to get hold of will appear and loans that would normally come off the market in days will take weeks. A good time for AC to get new people onto the platform.

#168 CQH Hotel now officially listed in 'upcoming' That makes quite a pile that are due to become available at the end of April or early March. I'm guessing there will be some market disruption - loans that have been hard to get hold of will appear and loans that would normally come off the market in days will take weeks. A good time for AC to get new people onto the platform. I'm expecting a mass exodus from the GEIA just before a new loan goes live. All the WT's (except CWE) and the bug plant have become fully invested. Of course this assumes there are sufficient lenders wanting to buy the WT's outside the GEIA.

For whatever reason people invest in the GEIA, the WTs and the bug plant are very liquid (I'm surprised there hasn't been more jokes on this). So I'll buy any WTs outside of GEIA that are going. In fact I think that's one of the reasons the GEIA is failing - as there is a bug that sells and buys parts for GEIA account holders, when they sell you can buy them outside of GEIA which then starves the GEIA account holders of funds.

My bolding above: I think that encapsulates the reason it was moderated. Personally I also think the Ab**** mention is borderline, but at least there is no further information being given which might identify which of presumably several candidates it might be.
