Every time I look at loans I have to change the default setting to 100. I wish 100 WAS the default setting. It's not as though the lower options change the size or the format displayed, so what is the point of it?

I guess it's about reducing the page load time on slow internet connections, but I agree it's frustrating. The ideal approach would be for your Profile to capture your preferred default view setting and stick to it (incidentally, what are the "Lending Considerations" fields used for in the Profile??). That said, AC is nowhere near as bad as FC, where I constantly have to change the view settings in Sell from 25 to 500 loan parts (every time the page is refreshed!!)

oldnick, what's the problem? The default number can be changed by the user, and it is remembered. It is on my PC anyway, even after a restart. I just checked. If your PC is not remembering there must be something wrong. Perhaps it's done with a cookie that you are not accepting? Edit: It is, however, annoying that you have to set the default separately for each of the seven sub-screens under "Browse loans"

Well I suppose that is the problem then - in choosing to reject a cookie I am left with the default option of 50 loans. Unless there is an outpouring of support for 50 I hope chris can see his way clear to changing it to 100?

I guess it's about reducing the page load time on slow internet connections... Not just that IMO. I would think most PC users would prefer to max out the number of loans on screen and scroll down to view. That includes me. However, users of touchscreen devices, or who use a laptop without a mouse, may prefer a lower default.

I vaguely recall that this came up before; it was then largely sorted except for mikes1531 & myself. I don't know if it still applies to Mike though. So glad to read this thread is not about financial defaults.

The ideal approach would be for your Profile to capture your preferred default view setting and stick to it. I don't think it has anything to do with page loading times -- when I change from the default of 50 to 100 my display changes instantly, with no apparent need to load any more data. So I think all the data is downloaded in the first place, and the option simply controls how it displays. The system is supposed to remember my setting, but it only remembers for a short while. And then it reverts to 50. I accept cookies, but I'm still seem to be in the same position as you. I vaguely recall that this came up before; it was then largely sorted except for mikes1531 & myself. I don't know if it still applies to Mike though. I do accept the cookies but, as noted above, I still have the problem. And I'd like to have some control over my statements as well. With all the micro-purchases and sales, when I look at my MLIA statement for the default last 30 days it is spread over 120 pages!! (Yes, it does have 6000 entries.)

Same situation as Ton & Mikes1513 & yes it's annoying. Not quite as annoying as the rubbish session logout time though. Talking of which does anyone else share security concerns re answers to our secret questions being stored (fully visible) on our profile?

Before P2P, savers put a guinea in a piggy bank, now they smash the banks to become guinea pigs.

I'd like to see the list of loans squeezed up so that more can be displayed on the screen at once, and find it annoying that when you click-scroll a page of loans, one loan gets hidden behind the top menu.

Would anyone in the 50 loan camp care to explain the benefit of it?

I don't have any worry as the answers can be easily found elsewhere, my first school, mothers maiden name and first pets name have been given on my facebook profile/messages many times and are in the public domain. To use questions such as these is a complete waste of time from a security point of view, if anyone can break a randomly produced password (I use a password manager to produce them) its not going to take them long to find the answers to these questions - just an annoyance to have to type them in every time

I'm afraid it wasn't tongue in cheek at all, all the info i mentioned is readily available if anyone wants to look, only a few weeks ago I posted a photo of a drawing of my first pet and it was posted on instagram and facebook - with his name, As far as the other details are concerned I have never had a reason to keep them a secret. The other questions I could have chosen don't have any definite answers for me so I would probably find myself locked out of my own account - perhaps it would be better if we could set our own questions Sorry, this thread has gone off topic rather. To answer that, I don't have any preferences as I haven't had enough transactions to make a difference, so I won't vote

(You're safe from me as I don't use those channels of communication - but the rest of the world...). Can I suggest, as an (almost) impartial observer, that you tick the '100 default' box?

Would anyone in the 50 loan camp care to explain the benefit of it? Chris and his team have better things to do with their time than fixing things which work as intended for the majority of users, and aren't that much of a problem for the rest.
