Whole site appeared to be down earlier, now it's just the loan parts page.
Strange!

Has now changed to 'Bad Gateway'.
If I believed in conspiracy theories I'd say that it's an attempt by FC to stop my retreat from FC. Sold 15 loan parts yesterday - the most for ages - which means I've got £250 looking for a new home. ACs new loan next week may well be the benificiary.

I think we would all like to see more action on the AC front (a chance to clean the cob webs off the bid button). Just hope it is a reasonable offering that we all have a chance to bid on.

When I think about the number of platforms with website issues/performance problems, it gets scary. TC , FS, FK, SS ! ...Ah, FC !

At least the FC site is reasonably well laid out and intuitive, when it actually works. On the Rebuildingsociety site, by comparison, I can hardly ever find what I want, although the words 'beta' may account for some of the problems.
However FC do definitely have performance and reliability issues .. the secondary market seems the worst (but when you look at what a 'sell loan parts individually' page actually comprises/does it is a minor miracle that it works at all).

Never attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained by an overloaded server. The "statements" page is timing out too (500 Internal Error we know about it), and the main summary/account page has had some broken numbers on ("Amount available to lend: £0.00" which also was affecting the FC Total, when amount available to lend is correctly shown on the SAME page in the header.)

And it's gone even stranger today. Yesterday my FC total went up and down all day by about £7. This morning it's gone down by £40. I expect they'll find it later down the back of the sofa :-)

Many years ago I was taught to never screw around with what appears to be in investors accounts. Is it possible that FC don't think they are in the Investment/Banking business and can ignore these vital factors?
My guess is if this was RBS, HSBC or any of the other big banks behaving in this way it would be front page news in the press and much time would be taken up on TV discussing the unprofessional behaviour. There would also be a clamour for compensation and punishment of the offenders.

What's the betting that FC wont even bother to apologise?

I expect they'll find it later down the back of the sofa :-) It will eventually sort itself out, but it is disconcerting meantime. I had a bit more of that sort of thing today, amount on loan went down as payments were returned, yet they didn't appear in the FC total. Later, after a few more beads on the abacus rattled around, it did feature in the total. There seems to be a synch problem between some parts of the page updating straight away and others catching up later. That might be your bouncing figure According to the banner, the beads are being restrung and polished tonight, so it may all get better soon.
