Just transferred funds by FP. How often do FS check bank a/c? Hope to get some into this loan. Send them an email, tell them what you've done, and ask them to check their bank account... ... and hope they react quickly, as the loan is 68% funded already. Good luck!

How do you get email notifications? I can't remember getting any, which means I check the site at least 6 times a day. Is their a news letter or do you have to read the blogs? Check all the settings under the 'Edit' tab in the 'My account' view. Maybe you haven't entered your email address or aren't set to receive email notifications - if you have the right settings but aren't getting them, then drop them a message to tell them. There was, for example, an email went out to lenders yesterday late afternoon to announce that today's loan would be appearing.

The email notifications will help, but you'll still have to check the website frequently. The emails will announce an upcoming loan opportunity, but not a specific time -- because when they've announced a time they've caused a scrum that the website couldn't handle. So you'll know that something is coming in time to add money to your account if you wish, but you'll still have to watch the website so that you can pounce on the opportunity when it appears. Today's loan is larger than most, and it's been available for about five hours so far, though probably not a lot longer since it's 87% funded now. Smaller loans tend to be funded in a matter of minutes. For those, FS usually set a maximum amount each lender can contribute. That gives more lenders a chance to take part, but the loans still are funded very quickly. Obviously, this all depends on how many investment opportunities FS can provide -- if they had lots more then the pressure to invest very quickly would be reduced. No doubt they're trying their best to produce more investment opportunities.

I've just received an email saying the £525,000 antique books loan is to be renewed (sometime over the next week or so). I'm not going to roll over my full investment in this, and I guess the continuing absence of a secondary market which was promised "soon" at the time of this loan 6 months ago may prompt other lenders to reduce their exposure where they put in more than their normal per loan max to assist in getting this loan away.
So another large opportunity is on the horizon which will be of particular interest to lenders who have joined in the last 6 months.

Perhaps this is the ideal opportunity for us to ask fundingsecure for an update on the secondary market. Are there still plans to have one? If so, has any progress been made towards developing the system capacity to provide it? Can you give us an estimated target date for it to be available to us?

In addition, I would like to see a shadow bid facility in operation like SS. Any abuse and you're out but with the promised new loans coming on stream (maybe) then that would stop anyone hesitant in simply depositing funds and hoping - that's me - from seeing those funds being idle.

Obviously, this all depends on how many investment opportunities FS can provide -- if they had lots more then the pressure to invest very quickly would be reduced. No doubt they're trying their best to produce more investment opportunities. Have had Nigel working on this problem today and he appears to have resolved the issue. I am very impressed with the level of service this site gives. I usually have a reasonable balance in my account to capture opportunities and have noted that they do limit the investment for the smaller loans in order to give all investors an opportunity. My desire to receive advance notice was driven by the appearance of loans that quickly drew down my balance, leaving me in a rush to fund my account. Perhaps the system used by SS would be of benefit here, where you can fund a loan then have 24 hours to ensure you have adequate money in your account to cover the loan part. I have noted that if your bank is the same group as FS's a FP is credited within minutes. 5 out of 5 for the level of customer service given. Limiting the investment on smaller loans is no doubt fair provided you are around when they go live. Some are but many are not. So I guess in those instances ATM it's all the luck of the draw. With the notification regarding the Silk Carpets I only picked that up yesterday evening and I didn't feel lucky transferring funds across to FS - would they arrive in time - I have no idea so ducked out. Hence allowing shadow bidding would solve that particular problem - well for me it would anyway.

Hence allowing shadow bidding would solve that particular problem - well for me it would anyway. In hindsight we can see that the silk carpet loan didn't fill instantly. In fact, there's still £2900 left to be funded at the moment. If I were in bugs4me's position, I think I'd have emailed FS to ask if they'd be watching their bank account throughout the day on Saturday. If they were, then I think I'd have sent a FP as soon as I saw FS's reply.
