Thread to feed back any comments on the current Auto Settings functionality: Auto Lend and Auto Income.
We are collating any feedback in order to make some usability updates. These will likely include adding switches to turn on/off both Auto Lend and Auto Income, to suit those investors who prefer to manually withdraw funds/make loan offers. All suggestions for improvement welcome...

I think a facility to regularly pay from my bank account into the Lending Works account would be nice.
Sure, I could easily set up a standing order, and I might just do that, but the ability to have a direct debit would be nice. But not essential I guess.
Also, it would be kinda nice to have the option to "pause" said direct debit like Ratesetter does. Which comes in handy if I'm a bit skint this month. Again, could probably do it via my bank's website, but it's nice to have options.
Other than that, I love the simplicity of the interface. Straight forward English and big old buttons makes for a great user experience. Well done.
I've set up an account. Will be dipping my toe on pay day.

Hi ribsThanks for the feedback - always welcome. Setting up a direct debit facility for lenders should be relatively straight forward - we already have the processes in place for collecting loan repayments. We held off as we didn't think it would be used a great deal since most of our regular lenders seemed ok with setting up a standing order, but we'll bear this in mind for future improvements. It can become a bit onerous if we can't electronically verify your account details as you'd then need to upload ID/proof of ownership manually which can be burdensome, so we tried to keep things simple. We've tried to keep the interface very straight forward as most lenders don't have the time or desire to spend hours adjusting settings etc. We'll be giving the lender centre a proper makeover soon but we'll certainly look to retain the simplicity when we do. Let me know if you have any other thoughts once you start lending

I've set up a bank transfer today. £10, big spender. However, the autosettings is kinda broken, despite my initial optimism. Steps to reproduce: Go here: member-area.lendingworks.co.uk/lending-centre/settingsClick "Auto Lend 3 years". This option is now selected and the colours go from black to grey to show this. Click "Auto Lend 5 years".This option is now selected and the colours go from black to grey to show this. However, the 3 year option is still disabled. I can no longer change my mind to select it. Click "Custom Settings". This option is now selected and the colours go from black to grey to show this. However, the 3 year and 5 year options are still disabled. I can no longer change my mind to select them. I'm guessing I should be able to flip back and forth to select whatever I please, then save? Same Auto Income settings. Not a big deal, as I can just reload the page and select whatever, but a bit of a problem from a usability standpoint. Using Chrome Version 46.0.2490.71 (64-bit) on MacOS version 10.10.5 (14F27)

Hi ribsThanks for flagging this - appreciate you providing browser details etc. I'll raise this as a bug with our tech team and hopefully get that resolved in no time. Have a lovely weekend.

Looking good here on the Chromebook. I assume it would be fine on my desktop machine as well. Thanks.

Hi Matthew I am a little confused about the automatic withdrawals. I am set to automatically withdraw capital and interest to reach me by Friday. Last Thursday I received the email and on Friday the money arrived in my account. That was fine. Then I guess someone repaid their loan early as there is now (Monday morning) something showing in my Classic Wallet on the dashboard which I would like to withdraw now rather than wait until the end of the week. But when I click 'Withdraw money' it only shows 2p 'In wallet' and won't let me withdraw the amount shown on the dashboard (or that less 1p in case of rounding). From the dashboard, clicking 'More' under 'Total Classic account' shows me that the amount I want to withdraw is 'Pending withdrawals' (and the 2p is 'Available'). So does this mean that I need to cancel the automatic withdrawals, do a manual withdrawal, and then set up the automatic withdrawals again? I am loth to try that without advice in case I break something!

I am loth to try that without advice in case I break something! Hello sir The automatic weekly withdrawals are processed in our system on a Thursday and sent to the bank as next day payments, to arrive in your account on Friday as expected (next day payments are slightly cheaper than same day payments). The receipt of funds, therefore, occurs the day after your withdrawal confirmation email. We'll likely change this at some point but that's why it happens like that. Regarding your point around pending withdrawals, this is entirely a UX issue on our part and one that is scheduled to be updated soon. Apologies for the confusion. I'll try to explain: The dashboard currently shows one figure for 'Wallet', which includes (i) amounts available to lend or withdraw, (ii) manual withdrawal requests not yet processed and (iii) automatic withdrawals accumulating until the end of the week/month (depending on your settings). We'll be changing it shortly so that when you request a withdrawal, it will 'leave' your Wallet and instead show as pending within the 'Withdrawn' box on the dashboard. Even better would be to show whether pending withdrawals relate to manual or automatic requests. We deliberately don't allow lenders to cancel pending withdrawals, primarily so there's no risk of doing so at the same time as it is being processed by finance. That's why they appear a bit elusive on the old dashboard. However, if you need to we can manually cancel this for you - you can either DM me or contact our Customer Service team on 020 7096 8512 or at cs@lendingworks.co.uk. Once it's cancelled you can request a manual withdrawal and it'll be sent to you the next working day. I think we'll probably update this at some point so you can do it yourself - we just haven't got to it yet. Hope this makes sense anyway.

I will just wait for nature to take its course. It does seem a little odd to me though, that the funds are locked into pending withdrawal when they arrive in the wallet and not nearer the actual withdrawal time (say 12 or 24 hours before) but perhaps that is because I am thinking of the wallet as a bucket of money (or a 'wallet'!) rather than the summary of a whole load of transactions. PS: Please don't call me 'sir', I work for a living.

Just opened an IFISA and the "Lending settings" tool is bugging me as when I view the settings it just shows the default settings and not what I apparently saved. Just want to be sure my settings are applied before my money clears.

Just want to be sure my settings are applied before my money clears. I opened mine recently to take a transfer which came in last week. As soon as the account was created (a week or 2 before that) I set my "Lending settings" and they have stayed set. Whenever you log in you are taken to the Classic dashboard and you have to select the ISA dashboard in order to view it's "Lending settings" which are independent of those for the standard account. If that is not your problem then you probably ought to contact customer support: cs@lendingworks.co.uk - they are very helpful. I must say I am impressed with how fast my pot has been invested.

Would be good if auto-invest ignored sums less than £1 as they don't get re-invested anyway. Also, cancelling unmatched offers isn't displayed correctly in Firefox for Android. The selection box just resizes a bit instead of having a check/tick.

The selection box just resizes a bit instead of having a check/tick. Hi NSFWThe way it should work is that any offers less than £1 are aggregated together until such point as they are 'investable'. Otherwise you end up with dribs and drabs accumulating in your Wallet. Thanks for the note on the bug - I will raise internally.
