... some of the duffers it bought me in the first week or two ... Therefore you have had autobid enabled on that account at least once. The rates it remembered would presumably have been from that "first week or two" unless the sliders had overridden that since...

I am fairly sure I have played with the sliders (but without turning autobodge on) long after the first week, just to see what it was doing. However it used to NOT remember what you had set, which was an annoyance if you turned it off to sell something (which you used to need to) ... I guess at some point FC gave it a memory facility.

It never used to remember what I had set either, as recently as about a month ago. Maybe it got a memory when they tweaked it for fixed rates.

It used to remember the slider position you'd set, and override the advanced settings with rates generated from the slider position (an annoyance for those who used advanced settings). On the occasions I'd used autobid before, I moved the slider somewhat to the right BEFORE selecting the advanced settings, and the next time I used it, I got the same initial rates. As there is no longer a slider, perhaps it will now remember the individually selected rates when turning off and on again?

It used to keep reminding me that when I first joined, in August 2012, I used Autobid with the recommended 5% minimum diversity and set my gross rate to 8.9% hoping my cash would start earning interest quickly - which it did of course. Good riddance to that slider.
