I agree Nick I have done just that bought into every E loan as an exercise and actually paid a lot less than 0.9% Premium more like 0.5% which bases on your calculations leaves me ahead, an example the recent 16388 I have been able to buy at 0.3% premium funny enough from someone else called n**k (any relation ? ) Probably was me. I buy as much as I can in the PM and subsequently sell down to a certain level and buy ones I couldn't get on the PM on the SM. My aim is diversify as much as possible, but it is a struggle given the fairly limited number of E loans so far.

Oh in that case I think I must be one of your best customer's as I rarely get a chance to buy at auction I have to buy the majority of my E loans in the secondary market. If you don't mind me asking how is it that you are able to get in on so many of the E auctions ?

I use a chrome extension called Page Monitor which simply monitors changes in web pages and thus can be set-up to alert you if the number of loans listed changes (there a number of similar extensions for other browsers that do the same task). Unfortunately it alerts you with a notification every time a new loan is listed and as one falls away so it can be a bit of a time burgle, checking every alert, but as I'm in front of the PC most of the time away it can provide a useful diversion from the usual grind......

Just realised an error in my calc - interest accrues from the earlier of actual down down and the scheduled close of the auction, so you can only lose out on up to 7 days interest (if the loan proceeds) and not 10 days as assumed in my original example. Gives a "incremental cost" of buying on the PM as £0.46 instead of £0.65 with all other assumptions held the same.
