someone is definitely playing games with this one. One minute it's going down significantly, then whoosh, a big load is dumped on sm to bring it back up again? Wonder if it's purely underwriters/ss releasing more stock or someone gaming the system?

Who knows.....almost not worth watching as it is so all over the place. Wonder whether 74 will get released before the NY now allowing time for Chrismas enthusiasm to hoover up remaining 500, now 400, now 600 now 300K of 73! The world works in mysterious ways and who knows what you'll get when you pull the festive cracker... a pre-funded allocation of something new maybe. Enjoy:)

someone accidentally bought over £800k this morning. It will be unwound and put back up for sale later on tonight when IT can have a look at it... I was away before Christmas, so I am just catching up on this... I can only imagine the moment, when that the mistake was noticed, by the person concerned! The telephone would have rung at Saving Stream HQ, Tim would have picked up the phone; "Good morning. Tim from Saving Stream here. Can I help?" "Tim please help! Tiggy the Cat, has just bought £800,000 worth of that Essex Storage facility..." "Hang on a minute, just checking the computer data base... Erm, we don't have any user named Tiggy the Cat! Are you a nuisance caller?" "Tim believe me, this is genuine. I was placing an order in my Saving Stream Account, the telephone rang and while I was away, Tiggy the Cat placed an order using her paws on the numbered keys and chasing the mouse!! £800,000 worth of that Essex Storage facility. What can I do?" "Leave it to us and make sure Tiggy the Cat doesn't play on the computer in future!" As I said, one can only imagine... MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Not sure i like the tone of the latest updates. It all depends on how you read it. Was this a stern reminder borne out of concern? Or did SS say "this is the deadline if you want to extend" and the borrower said "no problem"?

Agreed, my first thought on reading was maybe SS are not quite as confident as the borrower about his PP appeal.

With such a high number of loans in negative days, plus quite a few approaching 0 days left, probably SS is taking firmer stance towards the borrowers.

Why is it that this loan is so much more unpopular than other "end of term" loans? With a relatively healthy (for SS) 12 days to term, there are loans which have overrun into many negative days, yet are nowhere near as unpopular on the secondary market as this loan.

I guess people are worried that the unusual activity by a big seller is due to insider knowledge?

There is a thought that the land is overvalued, but that is for others to comment as I haven't really done too much DD on this loan
Another reason is that the loan is approaching negative term, which is when some investors hit the big red button.

I looked into the planning in detail. In my view it won't go through, but that is just my view.
Next question is what is this piece of land actually worth and if you believe the rental figures. I don't.
I bought quite a bit loan of this some time ago. I got rid of it some time later. Each to his own.
You can read between the lines - the borrower told SS (or implied) the planners were very much on side.
That doesn't come across in some of the documents. The positive is that a developer offered 100,000 as some sort of deal to secure first refusal after planning was given, maybe they have a different view.
All depends on the planning appeal which I think is some time away, hence the refinance.

Another reason is that the loan is approaching negative term, which is when some investors hit the big red button. Also, this is one of SS's larger loans, so there are more parts that can be sold. One way to factor that out would be to calculate the fraction of the loan that's for sale. In this case, that would be 59/4580 at the moment, which is 1.3%.
