So according to the article quoted here, this forum is part of the deepnet since it lies behind a login page. Deep net and dark net are somewhat different AIUI. The former is the stuff which search engines can't normally get into. They know it is there but can't see behind a login. Think a private page on Facebook or a private Twitter stream. The latter is the parts of the net which search engines / you can't even try to get to unless you know they exist. Think Silk Road, selling all sorts of dodgy / illegal things, closed by the fbi. This forum is readable anonymously, so it is actually in neither part, with the exception of the private AC board (and I guess any mod / admin boards) which would be deep net. I caveat all the above with the giger counter comment. Technically such a thing doesn't exist. It's a giger-muller tube with a scaler counter. However as people mix up the terms so much other people tend to interchange them. I also caveat with the fact that it could be I'm simply out of date in my terminology!

Are u having a Stokes/Bairstow moment and inadvertently left out the 'n' ? I think the ginger counter stood at about 408. The geiger counter on the other hand we hope stood at no more than approx. 1.2 - 1.4 mSv/a. Mind you, they do have an awful lot of uranium in South Africa so maybe it was higher. But you are right: technically the giger counter definitely doesn't exist :-) thank mikes1531 for this post: as he pulled me up a bit earlier I have to find an alternative victim.

But you are right: technically the giger counter definitely doesn't exist :-) thank mikes1531 for this post: as he pulled me up a bit earlier...... I read the pudding exchange and chuckled so only fair. As for the above, you are correct.... As I said to ramblin rose a few weeks back, it's been a long time since I did physics and even then I was a terrible speeeeller.
