According to a friend of mine there are >>no<< six character alphabetic .com web addresses left. Either you mis-remembered, or your friend is incorrect... for "random" alphabetic strings, according to www.domainnamesoup.com (where you can quickly check too), you'll find: Obviously, the chances of finding something diminish if it's a name that's already meaningful in any context, such as a surname. Registering a .uk domain (or one of the older-style .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, etc.) is usually cheaper, and gives a wider selection of available names than .com (where you're competing with the entire world, rather than merely those with an association with one country).

fc.gripe is available too :>. ... or indeed as a counterexample to the 6 alphabetic character assertion, fcsuck.com

The new FC official forum apparently offers us the ability to set up polls, so I've started one over there to gauge whether FC lenders feel that individual lenders (and/or their bots) should be limited to something rather less than the current 20% of new loan auctions. That way perhaps smaller E and D band auctions might last a couple of minutes rather than a few seconds. Feel free to express your opinion over there, which FC might then find a little harder to ignore...

Fascinating .. I am apparently now subject to the black hole of moderation again (but only tonight), and also (see the latest autobid thread) random posts from the past are being pasted in to new threads!? Oh, what a magnificent improvement. 8>.

Oh, what a magnificent improvement. 8>. A cynic might say that improvement was not intended. Much reduced functionality - posts cannot be edited nor comments attached to existing posts. Much easier to monitor and moderate - just need to look at each new post once.
