Slight change of tack her to get back on topic. I need to transfer funds between bank accounts before making my deposit to honour my allocation in this loan. Due to the offer being made on Saturday afternoon I am concerned my 24/48hrs will have lapsed prior to my funds showing up in my account. Is there any suggestions how to make sure SS doesn't withdraw my allocation and put it back up for offer? I am hoping to have the transactions completed before the end of play on Monday. This happened to me once. I emailed them a screenshot of the withdrawal from another platform and they were as good as gold about it. The screenshot may not even be necessary but if you can do one it cannot hurt.

I'm pretty sure that it is (and always has been) 48 hours; it's just the warning email you get within 24 hours. However to be sure I always resolve a negative balance within 24 so I can't be 100% sure.

I was having a poke around for details on this property and quickly found this: www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-52324472.htmlThis was listed at £2.75m. Why is the valuation on SS much higher at £6.645m? It looks like it is the same (acreage is actually higher on the Rightmove listing) as it does include a "portfolio of estate houses and cottages". I feel I am missing something... You are missing something.... 830 acres to be exact! The valuation report for the current security indicates 1,443 acres, whereas that listing is for 613 acres. Not sure where those 830 acres lies, though; which is why we want to see the appendices (plans and photos), which is currently missing !

That listing describes the property in 3 lots. It might be the case that the quoted price applies to lot 1, rather than to the whole property. Some incarnation of the estate sold for £3,850,000 in 2005. I suspect that that includes the land the vendors are retaining with a view to establishing a windfarm.

Those other acres are the woodlands and fields to the back of the estate, (I always think of the front of the estate as being the cottages and gate house on the coast road the A83), These are the shooting ares of the estate along with a few small lakes / ponds. The estate almost stretches all the way to Grogport on the eastern coast of the kintyre peninsula. Plenty of wildlife in the area, badgers, foxes, Red, Roe and Sika deer. Seen buzzards, Snowy Owls and little owls, Hares, weasles, tons of pipistrelle bats. There is even a breeding pair of Golden Eagles on the peninsula, although I won't divulge their actual location. Even a small population of Red squirrels a few miles to the north.

Being serious; it's great to have some local knowledge. Do you have any local info about the proposed wind farm and is it on the land indicated on the security?

Being serious; it's great to have some local knowledge. Do you have any local info about the proposed wind farm and is it on the land indicated on the security? LOL, I wish I did own it. Just had a quick look on the Argyll and Bute council website under planning, but I cant see any current applications for wind farms, although there are turbines on Gigha, (island that is just offshore and runs parallel with the estate, and there are turbines already up and running in the area , but I'm not sure on whose land it is. There is a planning application from 2008, which was granted for a small Hydro electric scheme running on one of the larges burns, (streams), not sure if that ever went ahead. Update : There may already be some turbines on the estate land. Just noticed on the Estate website the following, Hiking enthusiasts will be keen to learn that the ********* Estate forms part of the ‘Kintyre Way’, a way-marked route formed in 2006 covering 87 miles, which criss-crosses the Peninsula from Tarbert in the North, right down to the southern tip of the peninsula at Southend. ******** is on the Tayinloan - Carradale part of the route, which cuts across the estate from its northern perimeter, up the hill and through the woodland, past the lochs, to the upper perimeter at the wind-farm. From here the most fantastic panoramic views can be observed before the way then falls down-hill towards Carradale. This route would be approx 16 miles.Type in wind farm in the search box here and you can see just how many applications the council are getting for wind farms pa2.argyll-bute.gov.uk/online-applications/search.do?action=simple&searchType=Application

I may have gotten lost as this thread developed, but I can't actually see any indication that there is any scope for potential wind farms on this land (the current owners are retaining circa 2,000 acres to the east and north of the property in anticipation that they could build a wind farm, but that's not to do with the security land). In any case, I have dropped SS another email to get those plans uploaded !

Windfarm is definitely there, just re-tasked a satellite to do a quick fly past of 55°38'21.0 N 5°33'29.8 W. Turbines are in white, the black is the shadows they are casting.
