collateral Collateral Rep I think you might have some display glitches (or worse) relating to selling loan parts I put £1 of the Emerald Earrings up for sale as a test this morning. When I logged in now it was still unsold but the loan was showing as fully funded with no availability. I cancelled the sale and redid it and the site said £3 available and increased to £4 when I cancelled it. Ive logged out and relogged in and there is still £4, cancelled and relisted and now £6. Logged out/logged in still the same. So as far as I can tell the system is adding sale & cancellations to availability - i havent tried to buy as I dont have any cash on site. I guess this is one way of attracting buyers if your selling as you can artificially increase the amount showing as available (currently the £1 is worth £10) Doesnt seem to affect any other displays. Edit Actually the transaction statement is a bit odd as it shows putting a loan part up for sale as a transaction. This dosent make any sense as no transaction has actually occured and just clutters the statement up unnecessarily. Currently my transactions are showing a negative balance.

Hopefully it will be resolved over the weekend.

Initial impressions are quite good. Dipped a small toe in and looks good so far. Only problem so far is when I export transactions to Excel I get a security warning as this is not downloaded over a secure link. Looks like it is coming from a third party - jquerygrid.net/export_server/save-file.php who offer jquery scripts for everyday use. Although there appears to be no identifying info in the data, I'm still not happy that my financial data is being transmitted in clear text. Any chance this can be looked into to try and secure this data?

Given that Collateral have been loitering around for a while and invited forumites to join up I find this clause in the T&Cs amusing 19.2. You agree not to make attempts to establish the identity of or contact any of the Company’s Investors or Borrowers. Have they not realised exactly the type of people who hang around these parts? Duedil on property, assets & borrowers, thats what we do (among other things). Dont let CD sign up as he wont know what to do with himself The other important question that needs to be answered is what platform abbreviation are we going to use to annoy uncletone - C, CO, CL? Id run a poll but probably not worth it before it has a board.

I have signed up to have a look (I wondered why the SS sub-forum was so quiet, and stumbled on this post ), but not being able to do DD due to lack of valuation documents (not to mention the clause 19.2.) is a put off for me. That clause should just say " don't you dare do DD... just bloody trust us you fools".It does look interesting, though; nice addition to SS and MT, but I think I'll let others have a little swim before diving in. A shout out to collateral ... I SEARCHED THAT FILM ON IMDB ... sooooooo... did I break clause 19.2...

Maybe there's also merit in a rule against choosing offensive abbreviations that just happen to also be associated with attempted genocide? That's one reason why I never use any of them, I don't want to do anything that might encourage their use.

Joined today Saturday and as a non resident was quickly accepted after emailing id and utility bill. You need to register your bank account details first to get the correct account number for transfers in, which I failed to do but it was quickly channeled into my account anyway. All worked smoothly and I have my first investments already. I was looking for another platform as it is becoming difficult to invest new money on my existing British sites, unlike the European ones which always have loans available. Mods can we have a new section for this one please? collateral Signed up on Thursday, and as a non-resident they asked me for id and utility bill. Emailed but have received no response. Login is not working either.

Just browsing the loans on offer I see one for a property in Spain, the security is stated as
"As security Collateral hold the deeds to this property."
A deed (escritura) in Spain has no value, title is determined by the entry in the land registry (registro de propiadad) for the particular area. Unless the charge is registered there it is unenforcable, to do so would entail going to a Notary Public in the first instance where the debtor pledges the property and a representative of the creditor confirms that a loan has been made and a separate document taken to the land registry. The costs of doing so would be hugely disproportionate to a loan of £6,000. Simply lodging the deed with the creditor is as unenforcable in Spain as it is in the UK the owner does not need the deed to sell the property.

Collateral Rep collateral Further to the already under investigation display error with selling loan parts - which seems to reset itself over night as the loan went back to fully funded despite me forgetting to cancel the sale - I notice that when a loan part sale is cancelled the 'Age' of the the entire holding resets to zero on 'My Live Loans' list which also would appear to be an error. I assume this is all part of the same problem but thought Id mention it anyway.
