A lot of people are dissatisfied because the voting didn't go the way of their choosing and want a 2nd "go" (which they probably won't get). .....and we all love a poll here ........I thought it would be a good idea if we have our own one. Voting will close in 7 days when the results will be counted revealed.

Just because there's lots of people signing a fairly meaningless petition, doesn't mean that it's going to happen. It won't. It shouldn't - and I was (and am) strongly in favour of remaining. B'sides, it's not as if the referendum was in any way legally binding on the PM or parliament. Cameron's already bounced it back to his replacement which, imho, was absolutely the right thing to do. There's a heck of a lot of sense in the logic of this, apparently originally posted in a Grauniad article comment:

Or you trying to mirror the total confusion in the real world around which votes count and which don't :-)

This is serious stuff we don't want the poll corrupted by persuasion!!

The 16 million that voted remain can all sign the petition, as can the 10 million that couldn't be bothered to vote. It makes no difference. The democratic process has run it's course and the people have spoken.
I voted remain, but respect the the decision of the majority.
PS - the petition is currently being investigated for fraud

PS - the petition is currently being investigated for fraud I think its brilliant that a bunch of westminster politicians (the 'petitions committee') have announced the petition is being investigated for 'fraud': from the bunch that just bought us the heights of the last 8 weeks of debate on a topic of such massive importance. Perhaps they could extend the scope of that investigation a tad ?

I have to confess a liking for young Nige's comment: "It's not the best out of three".

One of the problems with politicians is the requirement to date and time stamp their opinions, afore the result is different a few hours later...
