There is a capital problem with a lot of the European banks, and probably a lot more issues too. This is a much bigger than Brexit, IMO. PS No signs of RBS recovering!

What came first, the chicken or the egg?
i just shifted a significant amount of funds out of the Legal & General property fund today. Am I panicking? Well I wasn't until the fund was marked down by 4-5% in one day after several years of steady growth. That doesn't really help investor confidence. It's not surprising many investors want to get out quickly.

A warning to those that dismiss out of hand unsecured loans and think that SS-style 'secured' loans are safe and might only devalue at worst by 20% - with property (especially commercial) a loss of confidence means that the whole lot freezes up and an asset can't be sold at any price until the fuss settles

I wonder how much of the asset base was bought off the bank's when they were fire-Saling. I suspect a lot, in which case they now have the tricky situation where they have to mark down towards the discounts applied.

With all these funds being in trouble and clear issues with Foreign Investment, does anybody know where the Russians/Chinese are running off to with their investments? Would be a good guide as to where the next boom is going to be and whether to risk following suit or steering clear?
