PBL109 just been (being) repaid Well, that was a bit of a surprise. I was expecting PBL 124 to be next, but having said that, it's only a day late on the recent update info.

Given your predilection for 'correct' English usage, I'm surprised by your schoolboy error: 'anyway' instead of 'any way'. As I'm sure you know, the former can only be used as an adverb (= nevertheless). A typo, let's agree? Touché

The haddock may have arrived. SS have got their fingers crossed. Tomorrow to pay off 58? ?, then launch Arboretum and extend 35 Oh dear! Quelle surprise!! Yet another useless repayment forecast by SS. They'll have to keep more than their fingers crossed when funds are expected from operators in Dubai. If you haven't looked at the series of unfulfilled predictions by SS it is worth a look at the updates tab. You'll realise why SS now has the reputation it does for useless (and often well out of date) updates. Seven repayment predictions starting from "imminent" on 29 April. Last Thursday SS "fingers crossed" for a payment on 19 August .... yeah, right .... the fingers are still crossed a week later and SS continues to accept what the borrower/introducer/broker/lawyer's cat says. I bet it isn't just fingers that are crossed, sitting in the office waiting all that time! "The lawyers are all in communication and working to a common aim." Aim? An extra week's fees?

I do wish the people in Dubai would pay up so we can get invested in the Arboretum, i am fed up of seeing it on the pipeline.

My neighbour is off to his villa in Dubai on Saturday for a few weeks. Should I tag along a pick up some cheques for outstanding repayments? What is the alternative? declare a default and increase costs all round? These things require a lot of ducks to be aligned. For me the bottom line is if the security is good and interest is being paid no problem.

Two very big IFs There is a very high proportion of loans in this state, the borrowers have probably exhausted most of their options, so some of the overdue loans at least are in an "extend and pretend" state and it is the belief of many that SS are imitating ostriches with their head in the sand.

We are just pointing out SS's continual repetition of something which just does not happen. * edit: though another loan that depends on its repayment is.

Whilst it's difficult to disagree with your final statement, you must also remember that a key underpinning of P2P lending is the overall credibility of the platform. Now, I'm a fan of SS, but the constant missing of stated deadlines on just about EVERY loan is either deeply worrying or totally comical, depending on your outlook (I probably lean to the latter). Either way this does nothing for building confidence in the platform, especially when lenders who are perhaps not quite as "hard bitten" as many of us on here are, not surprisingly, taking investment decisions on the basis of these updates.

Seeing as this is an SS thread I have to ask: are you sure you're having that curry today? How about tomorrow or next Wednesday or two weeks on Friday or..........

Yep. It's the last one from the freezer. I'll have to invest in making another ten portions ready for next week!
Or the week after ...
