Timed nicely they could pay off the existing loan just before the repayment on 13th and avoid paying interest on a loan already repaid. If a loan is repaid early all the interest up to and including the next installment date is included in the settlement figure.

Borrowers never have the money for free, but if they repay at the wrong time they can pay almost an extra month's interest. Have they read the T&Cs?

Should have sold 5346 while you had the chance - it was only downgraded yesterday, Which means that whoever bought those loan parts between the "we are going to settle the old one" and "old one downgraded so it won't sell" ... will be screaming at FC for paying a premium up front for a loan that just repaid in full. Again, sloppy handling of the transition, innit?

As I've said in t'other place there really ought be a 'soft downgrade' option for these, so they can still be sold at par or discount (in case someone really needs to exit) .. but yes, it should have come into place when the new loan got listed.

The avatar suggests at least one limb, employed full-time in grasping bananas. I rather regret starting this discussion about OldGrumpy's leg-count. At the very least it wastes lenders' time and that is FC's job. So a rule which prohibits speculation, or even allegations, about a lender's body parts not clearly visible in the avatar might be a good idea. (not retroactive as in T&Cs and avatars of course).

Ahhh, 1133 parts of loan 6036 already dumped on SM at the time of writing! Amused to see someone trying to sell some parts at a 3% premium... Think I'm going to stick with mine for a while... If I turn them into available funds there doesn't seem much worth bidding on.
