Yes its been a blot on the landscape for years and clearly unattractive to any developer in the past. I can't imagine the difficulty or cost of clearing and developing this site or the Park Authority wanting Area "A" between the road and river developed, more like returned to its natural state as there is no other development west of the road. I think it would be near impossible to shift when it all inevitably goes pear shaped. Given the doubts about the borrower i wonder if they could service extended interest the VR says not in the short term, also where the other £4.5 million is coming from as well. Mad to put live so quickly! Cement boots for this one! **************** That is one heck of a hole to fill to put it back to its natural state ....and yes nothing will get developed between the road and the river and re going live so quickly isn't it all to do with that five million loan repayment and monthly interest...maybe I'm just being cynical The borrower's option runs out soon which may explain some haste (and no doubt helpful to Ly to keep 033 on board too ).

I can't work out if this is a decent loan or not It has too many red flags for my criteria, so will probably pass. Good luck to those who invest.

This site has been a white elephant for longer than 1991!
As a viable C***** W**** it started to fail when Dr Beeching closed the Puffing Billy branch line in the 60s (It puffed up the hill past by my childhood home in S******* carrying the c***** - the whole house shook). I remember mass staff reductions affecting relations around 1965.
Since then there have been many owners and many plans that have all come to nothing. It seems to me that the security is very suspect.
A shame, as I would love to see the eyesore cleared up, but I am not prepared to risk my money on it.

I am out of this one.........Nothing can happen before July 2018................. a further £2.6 million needed for demolition alone................ and no planning. I would guess the borrower will try to sell on.........what is the going rate for white elephants these days?

Surprised SS made this live BEFORE paying back PBL033 (which is also supposed to happen today)
edit - PBL033 repaid at 14:19 , around the same time as the release time of PBL168

The £200k dumped on the SM at 'go live' time took about half an hour to be gobbled up.

You do have to pay for this with real money Do you mean that I should not sell my older loans? I was just joking with you. Probably a good time to get rid of "short-dated" loans and at a "long-dated" price, before we have a lot more defaulted loans. At which point another clog in the SM is likely.
