I can't find the email either about 2% property either (although I didn't look very hard), but the refer a friend cash back is ending this month - maybe a mistake?

The email basically said that there were two property loans closing soon with 2% cashback available, 'buy now while stocks last'. Nothing about the future of cashback in general. Quote:
"Don’t miss out on 2% cashback*! There are 2 loans closing in the next few days which have 2% cashback* available on lending, so place your bids before it's too late! Make a bid now "
I'd assumed everyone got one, apparently not. Lucky me!! I note that 7423 is still struggling to fill, with 2 hours to go, so some £40k of extra/imaginary bidders will be required.

In no way are FC in a position to remove the 2% - they just want these loans filled. The tall one rescued 7421. 7423 will be worth watching (I am not in this one) because it is a first tranche of a 2.6m loan which FC has underwritten if the first tranche fills. The deal is not so attractive, 7% over 20 months, and I wonder if FC will be so keen to help the first part over the line if the consequence may be that FC has to join the lenders on the rest.

On 7423 with 35 mins or so to go, a lender known as F*nd*ng C*rcl* S*l*t**ns is placing a very large number of £20 bids with a possible intention to help it over the line. Now it cannot be our friendly platform operator, though I am surprised they do not put some control on permissible names. It must be someone either who is keen to place a very large number of 7% loan parts on the SM, or someone who is keen that the loan be funded at 7%. This will trigger the underwriting, if the line is reached.
Edit: and now with 18 mins to go and about 1200 bids at £20 (approx £25k) entered by said lender, the bidding has stopped at 98%, leaving others to finish it, presumably. We shall see. I have 'invested' £20.

Quote: Thanks for clearing that up, GSV3MIaC. I've had these emails before but didn't get that one (maybe because I already have bids in?) so just wanted to clarify.

Will FC let 7423 fail for the sake of relative small change? Just £7000 to go now with less than 10 minutes left.

That lender is now taking it over the line. FC has never bid on a loan before - it would be improper.

To be pricise, the masked lender with the coincidental name bid just over £30K in the last hour.

The 7423 auction is no longer visible (link sends you to Marketplace) - hiding the dirty deed?
Edit: My colleague who placed a small bid CAN see it still. Others do not, like me. Smells fishy!
Edit 2: Other auctions in my watchlist are still accessible, including failed ones. This one really is special!

My £20 loan part is in My Bids, but not yet gone to pre-agreement. The word we seek is Billingsgate. Edit: now in pre-agreement. And now selling on the secondary fish market.

Well that's slightly more transparent than the last one, but probably still grounds for all sorts of legal activity. 8>.
