Blimey, back in the day FC were on my List of P2Ps to honour by bestowing them with largeish amounts of my hard earned spondoolies. I never quite got round to it, and after popping in and reading the topics/comments on here, I'm soooooooooo glad I didn't!

I reckon that if some of the discussion carried on there moves to here, then the forum staff are going to get some threats. They clearly want to shut down those property threads, and they will not want it repeated here. Go and post on the indy board, by all means, (but don't cross the line).

Just a thought, but they could have closed the forum because they are about to default the Borehamwood loan and don't want another uproar on said forum

I was very disappointed to see forum closed. Have joined here and glad to see some "old faces" who I hope will continue to keep up the right to criticise and inform when they hunk it appropriate. FC were not really responding anyway!

Thanks for the comments metoo. I was also amazed how much they would accept, while stubbornly refusing to make relatively simple changes which would have made the property loans simpler to manage. If they think that closing the forum will stop me continuing to ask them awkward questions, particularly about the Mel#### London loans shambles, they are wrong. I have migrated my Avatar across as a reminder to them that we Yorkshiremen can be as obstinate and stubborn as they are. Yorkshiremen, obstinate and stubborn. Never! J Boycott. Csse rest m'lud.

"A narrow range of technical topics" - must have been very boring and trivial stuff.

"A narrow range of technical topics" - must have been very boring and trivial stuff. Yes, mostly variations on technical topics like.... - Can we have our money repaid on time.
- When you offer FC comments, could you perhaps respond within the timescale you gave us.
- Could you perhaps support your lenders, rather than act as an excuse generator for delinquent borrowers.
- Is it too much to expect that you might contact borrowers a few days/weeks before repayment date to enquire when/if/how they might be repaying.
- Why has a loan been overdue for longer than its original term without becoming defaulted.
We were a very boring and trivial group, concerned with getting the service we paid for and the loan repayment we were promised.
I think that FC are shooting themselves in the foot by this action, an act which perhaps seems reasonable in the heat of battle, but which brings a faint whiff of cowardice to the subsequent Court Martial.
Time will tell, I'm sure that Yahoo and Ask Jeeves were both superbrands (copyright Sussexlender) too.

No loss as far as I'm concerned. It was very user-unfriendly and just didn't work. The first version they launched wasn't great but was better than what they ended up with. Must have been really annoying to them to realise they'd gone to all that trouble to buy out (?) the original FC forum but still couldn't control the damage.
I only rarely looked at the forum and hadn't contributed to it for years, having nothing left there other than a load of bad debt, but I'm curious how the announcement was made. Was it by email? They must have been selective in who they informed.

Some FC staff did a good job in dealing with reported problems etc on their board. One got the impression that they had to follow the company line but they were still professional and friendly. Hope they're not out on their ears. Perhaps they will be redeployed to monitor this board in which case, welcome!

Yes, just got mine. The forum brought up far too many of FC's failings to be convenient. Mel**** has finally brought it home to them that they are not the smartarses they smugly thought they were. Similarly, the original Indie forum which they got rid of because they didn't like the public criticism. A billion dollar valuation suggests otherwise. I'd say they are very very smart

The title of this thread is a bit strong, if I may say so. Calling people 'Cowards' does not reflect the gentlemanly conduct of this board. It should of course say Fearful Cowards Edit: And instead of 'gentlemanly' I should of course have said chivalrous, gallant, honourable, noble, courtly, courteous, civil, respectful, polite, well mannered, well bred, well behaved, attentive or gracious.

I used my yahoo one to be different from the FC one so they couldn't ID me.

I'm not sure what FC think they will gain by sending us all here. The mess they have created with the London property loans will only increase and become more public. Don't they realise how p**sed off we all are?
