A pathetic abdication in my opinion. The views of customers are a valuable resource unless one is determined to develop a bunker mentality.

With the demise of the other place, does this mean we can expect to start seeing threads on p2pindependentforum.com with titles all in CAPITAL LETTERS now?

Oh, the irony of encouraging FC lenders to post about them on here!

Yes, just got mine. The forum brought up far too many of FC's failings to be convenient. Mel**** has finally brought it home to them that they are not the smartarses they smugly thought they were. Similarly, the original Indie forum which they got rid of because they didn't like the public criticism. At least they are "recommending" this forum, and have admitted they monitor it. Maybe they thought it was unfair just to kick out @hor1997 ! Mel**** aka Short Term Property Loan London 1 (14978) — forever late. "Highly experienced property team" my ar backside!!

"Among is the earlier word of this pair: according to the Oxford English Dictionary, it first appeared in Old English. The variant form, amongst, is a later development, coming along in the Middle English period. With regard to their meanings, there’s no difference between among and amongst. They’re both prepositions." <- Heading off The Pedants at the Pass!

I have edited the title into Title Case to please the pedants amongst us. Not being pedantic, just appreciating the calmer atmosphere over here. Shouting at Fumbling Clowns probably did achieve some good things, and that opportunity is gone now. Some of us liked their property loans and they are ending too, possibly for the same reason. As Mel*** shakes out, the discussion wasn't going to be something they'd want to continue hosting. Probably they were also losing customers as people read the angry property threads. I was amazed how much they tolerated. Thanks for the long effort you put in to trying to get them to raise their game andyp . Penalty interest was certainly a good thing that came out of it.

Thanks for the comments metoo. I was also amazed how much they would accept, while stubbornly refusing to make relatively simple changes which would have made the property loans simpler to manage.
If they think that closing the forum will stop me continuing to ask them awkward questions, particularly about the Mel#### London loans shambles, they are wrong. I have migrated my Avatar across as a reminder to them that we Yorkshiremen can be as obstinate and stubborn as they are.

They've even borrowed the excuse reason for forum closure from Zopa. Zopa closed their forums because "a narrow group of investors were getting all technical about the details of statements, payments, interest rates" -- by which they mean mere customers were exposing the flawed reporting, retro-editing of statements, black box behaviour of systems, "estimated returns" that were being missed by significant amounts etc. etc. When the heat got too much to stand, they closed the kitchen. To "not confuse new investors". Sends a very clear message to existing investors though. Hopefully new investors will see that message and think about it a bit. It's no surprise though, they stopped bothering to respond to any public questions or criticism some time back. I feel sorry for the forum staff put in the position of trying to defend FC's behaviour Being sent into battle armed with a bit of limp celery and a "Management thanks you for your continuing patience" ...

We hope you will all continue sharing your views on Funding Circle over on the P2P Independent Forum, which we will continue to monitor. "Continue"? When did they start? That apart, will anybody notice?

Some might think that the FC management have realised they had failed to protect investors in a number of property loans and have now attempted to kill off valid questions , public criticism and fair comment.
It displays a total lack of moral fibre and cowardice,

Naturally we will welcome our ejected brothers and sisters onto this fine forum. Though it might be an idea to add something to the rules about conforming to the proper use of the apostrophe? We should not risk our standards being, ahem, diluted.

Oh, the irony of encouraging FC lenders to post about them on here! OMG - I've only just read the relayed message. They are ENCOURAGING peeps to post on here The circle of life......They learnt one lesson though: "If you'd like a copy of your posts....." The contrast, the constraint......

seems to me that they are going to great lengths to sweep the london loan fiasco under the carpet, that thread must have deterred a few prospective investors. However I have just registered on here and to be honest this site looks more diverse and interesting.

That apart, will anybody notice? As far as we can know, they have always 'monitored'. Though the only 'hard evidence' we have for that is in the earlier days of this forum when they issued various 'threats' and 'demands' - including demanding the 'right' to have for example phone contact details of one or more of the board staff - so that they could be in instant contact should they not like what they see. This was of course declined. So particularly interesting to see that we are now being 'referred'.
