I was a reluctant and quite late arrival at the smartphone party. Now on my second which I recently got having had the first for about 2 and half years. I've kept in the budget territory: paying £15 pm of which £5.50 pm is for the phone on 2 year contract. I woild have bought it upfront but didn't work out any cheaper: In fact would have been more expensive (go figure). Perhaps with shopping around I could have got better deal on contract but at least I'm not in the £30-50 pm category by going for the latest and greatest. My girlfriend's daughter pays approx £75 pm for her mobile contract (expensive phone and very high data allowance). Back on topic, around £60-70 p2p interest last month, expecting approx £130 this month. I earn approx £1700 pm.

I fund my lifestyle from P2P. Just to be clear my mobile phone costs me roughly £20 per year I live in Yorkshire What more do you need to know? Why you still live in Yorkshire when just to the west there is a tropical paradise called Lancashire? Or east.... in lovely Lincolnshire.

Just trying to decide whether your spelling deficiency is due to being "challenged" in literacy or is in reality an informed commentary on my anatomical juggling expertise when doing my pirouettes.

£180 for a smartphone is strictly budget phone territory. Mine cost me £299 for a mid-range smartphone that was significantly discounted below its usual price of approx £430. £15 pm for calls/texts/data. But for that price I can make the usual calls and texts. I can email from it. I can use Facebook messenger etc, take photos and videos and share them if I wish with friends and family. I can stream music through it and s end it to my stereo at home or the music system in m y car. I've got mobile banking apps that allow me to easily manage 14 current accounts (15 if M&S sort their app out) and multiple savings accounts.
The vast majority of my p2p investments have been made through my smartphone. I don't have the option of being logged in to my p2p accounts on my work computer so my smartphone allows me to take part at go live or loan renewal times.
Not even scratched the surface of what can be done with a smartphone. The computing power that is packed into such a small portable device is phenomenal.
I do all those things on my android phone, for less than £80. £180 seems a lot while £299 just seems like such a large lot, that is two bottles of Krug for goodness sake. To be fair Mrs B is of Yorkshire stock and would have made a fine buyer if she hadn't become a lawyer. What I will say is that when the £80 marvel kicks its clogs, or more likley goes swimming in God's big white telephone I will not bother to dry it out, just get another. Though I only use it to do deals when I'm in the gym or on Holiday. What you spend on "gadgets" is always relative I can do everything the other person said he could do on £300 phone. My £25 did too more or less, but was getting full with apps, so needed upgrading, again upgrading is relative I read that a statistic that 70% of the internet is accessed via a phone these days. Technology and transition from computer to laptop to tablet to phone can be an age thing, some people get "stuck" in the transition somewhere and never feel the need to upgrade (when it ain't broke, don't fix it attitude) Anyway, % of income due to P2P is about 1/4 too

I'm boosting my pension by around 50% from my P2P endeavours across half a dozen platforms - better than parking the pension lump sum in NatWorst at 0.25%
Of course we have £50+ of monthly cellphone contracts together with 200Mbit Virgin cable *and* 20Mbit SKY DSL to support ...
The P2P industry also helps me support a number of local pubs and breweries.

Why you still live in Yorkshire when just to the west there is a tropical paradise called Lancashire? To my shame I lived in Manchester for just over one year, I remember the sunny day even now. People came out of their houses to look at the blinding light and some were taken to hospital... Tropical (as in rain forest) Sunny day? You must have had too much ale. True Lancastrians regard the sun as a myth, much like a modest Yorkshireman.... Perhaps I should add that I married a Yorkshirewoman. Charity of the highest order in my view.
