Often people ask how many percentage of investment profile is in p2p. I prefer to ask how much one earns from it, because ones financial situation will determine how he invests.
I will start the ball rolling. i earn about 50 pounds monthly on p2p. enough to cover my mobile phone costs.....

Would suggest that your 'financial situation' strategy would be better focussed on reducing your mobile phone costs rather than worrying about your P2P investments. My mobile phone costs are £8.33 per month, so I will always be £500.04 better off each year than you. Assuming reinvestment of my mobile phone 'savings' and compound interest at 10% on P2P savings I will be £28,656.95 better off than you in 20 years time from having a lower tariff alone.

Agree with the phone focus I don't see the point of this question as it stands, £ values are arbitrary without knowing the amount invested. If i tell you i earn £1000 a year, or whatever, what does that give you? That could represent appalling or stellar performance without further information. Surely more useful information to know is that I earn an average of 5%, say, on my £20,000 investment and that that represents 25% of my overall portfolio? Edit: One thing I will add and is perhaps interesting is that I earn probably equivalent to 50% of my living costs from P2P. I am very frugal however e.g. my wife and I have one mobile phone between us that costs about £10 per month. Appreciate that's not for everyone, but I digress...

Regardless how frugal you live, it is really impressive to earn 50% of your living costs on p2p alone.

one mobile phone between us that costs about £10 per month. Appreciate that's not for everyone, but I digress... That’s absolutely profligate! Some might say that I’m living up to my user name, it’s unusual if I actually use £12 per year on my mobile, only using it for the occasional call and texts whilst most calls are made from the landline where we have a deal for broadband and no charge calls to other landlines and mobiles within the UK, 24/7 365 days a year. However, my wife spends £10 per month on her (iPhone) mobile so your household expenditure on phones is obviously lower per annum. In my book, there are far better things to do with one’s money than spend it on the latest phone and tariffs, e.g. invest it, pass it on to the kids and good quality holidays in Europe have higher priority than phones which I view as being simply for security or emergencies.

I've been putting £300 to £350 a month into FC since 2013. I withdrew most of it in April and swapped the cash for this - Insignia 2.0 Cdti. I got £2,500 in PX for my old car and with a decent discount as a cash buyer I'm happy with what I've earned from p2p. Just gotta start saving for the next one.... J

Why you still live in Yorkshire when just to the west there is a tropical paradise called Lancashire? God’s Own County is much friendlier, especially towards Lancastrians and other non Tykes. For example, if you want to know your faults and weaknesses you won’t find more obliging people anywhere.

Why you still live in Yorkshire when just to the west there is a tropical paradise called Lancashire? To my shame I lived in Manchester for just over one year, I remember the sunny day even now. People came out of their houses to look at the blinding light and some were taken to hospital... Tropical (as in rain forest)

I don't own a mobile What's a mobile? When I was young, it used to be something you hung from the ceiling to amuse the baby. Come to think of it, it's about all the ****** things are good for now!
