There's no mention of PG's anywhere. I wonder if their Advisor told them that assets would sell this, and if they throw in a Gross Tent too, well there would be no stopping it.

As I post this at 17:31hrs, I can prebid if I wish, but why can't I shadow bid, in other words a "shadow prebid"? It seems odd to me that this option is unavailable except via autoinvest in which I have absolutely zero confidence.

I have used the AI to make 'pre' shadow bids a few times now and it has worked fine. It's not obvious from its description, so I relied on a response from Chris to a post on these forums, but it did what I wanted. What puts you off using AI? You could always set the AI now, then after you have the shadow bid on auction opening, delete the mandate.

I think all pre-bids automatically morph into shadow bids if the lender has that facility.

This is correct. If you want to shadow bid just prebid as normal and make sure you have sufficient capacity within your shadow balance.

The loan is in personal names, not a company, so they would be personally liable. But it seems unlikely that the security would be insufficient.

If you want to shadow bid just prebid as normal and make sure you have sufficient capacity within your shadow balance. Yes, I agree it works! Prebid yesterday transformed into shadow bid this morning. Thank you everybody who contributed to improving my understanding of this.
