Have I understood correctly from the video or have I misheard? 3% margin used in the example Liam quoted. £5m profit in the first 6 months unaudited. Current order book £163m. Making more profit than turnover if my maths serves? Neat trick. Whats the secret? Have Lendy got other profitable income streams? Unless business costs were negligible or loans made were nearer say £220m originated in h1 2017 I cant get it to make sense. What am I missing please? Figure plucked from air. Previous example was 6% interest margin + 2% arrangement + 2% exit so made £100k per 1m lend plus any default interest/fees etc. They dont pay rent so no cost there, just salaries and operating costs etc.

One thing, when a loan is originated 2% is paid to the PF. When that loan is repaid (if no defaults have called on the PF) then the 2% can be taken as additional profit. So until very recently they could take this nice little earner, the accounts for this year will not look as good, but why let that spoil a great story when they not been published yet.

On top of his endorsement of LendInvest and unnamed platforms that he thinks will not survive it seems he has no concept of the impact his comments may have for his own business in terms of lender money. Maybe he wants to shed retail investors in favour of institutions or bond holders?

Just in case anyone thinks you are being serious I should point out that this is just an amusing side effect of the strange way p2pfinancenews embeds adverts to its other articles in the middle of the article you are reading.

He is talking about valuation and credit check on borrowers as their strength. Incredible!
