As you are here, can you tell us why the borrower spent all that money on a new engine rather than paying the interest to renew the two loans first? Have both boats had a new engine? This loan already has 1100hp engines. I suspect that 5818112533 has had its two puny 725hp engines upgraded to 1100hp. I'd be happy to write off my (minimum) loan if I got to have a go in the boat

Right now, almost 100% equity in my own property. Looking to move :} I'm afraid the yield won't be enough for solicitorious as a BTL investment... (Wd be around 6% I think)

Between myself and my better half we've come out as follows:
Interest 250ish
Promotions 400
Losses 100
Probable Bad debt 90
Fees 32
Debt for sale 53 Shrapnel 1
So a stonking return, but the lack of any sort of security on the loans (And the fact we'd like to buy a new house in time) means in the words of Duncan Banantyne "We're oot"

Can this one be written off as a bad debt please. No payment since Feb of last year - for whatever reason it clearly is not looking great - obviously continue to chase the debt please but the end of the tax year looms and I'm sure there are people with more cash than me in this one !

Hmm
Looks like I'll have to take Lloyds down to the bare minimum (Have 2 DDs out of it) as I'm borrowing at 2.14% on the mortgage tax free (Offset) so need to earn at least 2.568% :s
Still at least the 6 cinema tickets annually are nice.

Don't forget that gambling is GUARANTEED to lose you money in the long run (even in the short run), but p2p lending doesn't intend for anybody to lose, overall. Mostly we win (barring cock-ups). Incorrect. However, gambling IS at best a zero-sum game whereas marketplace lending in theory win-win for both sides, so your point? that the latter a more appropriate product for the mass market I agree with Both gambling & poker are ~ 0 -> -8% games, you'll make a profit in the long run if you can be ~ 5% better than other punters. Some forms like roulette maintain the house edge invariably (You're getting 35-1 on a 36-1 shot picking any number etc) and can't be beaten. A 10% ROI is very very good and about the top end for what a full time bettor can achieve. It is by definition though something which can never work out for the masses as alexb26 points out or else the bookies would all be bust. My specialist area is events/politics, though there are some even on this forum that stake/win alot more than I do - the ROI on this can be much much much higher than the nags but there are not 5 US/general elections a day (If only) so cash turnover is alot lower.

I have a small portion of this, will stick to my normal strategy - maybe sell out at 100 days or so. Feels a bit like the Gloucester loans to me

Any chance of having the expected term date with the "pipeline", as it'd help with pre-funding allocation decisions. I obviously know these can be changed/extended or whatnot, but this would help for "strategy" Cheers.

35, with 29 year old fiancee. There's no rush for anything much as neither of us particularly wants kids (Though I accept she might change her mind) - we've been living together for the last 8 years now.
Two horses, three cats and six rabbits though ( & we're getting a dog apparently in the spring !) so no shortage of mouths and bills !
