Same here, returned to the debit card I deposited with and not the bank account I actually requested the withdrawal to. What happens if the debit card does not exist anymore? You can still withdraw via old debit cards. Have done this many times with bookies, the funds head back to the linked bank account no problem even if the card has been cancelled.

I assume parts still earn interest even when they're marked for sale ?
If so I'll happily leave mine up and just let them sell/pay-down.

There are some excellent betting opportunities on the US elections outside the obvious Trump/Clinton punts. The election is in 18 days time so anything which returns over 0.5% can be considered now. Do you mean like Bernie Sanders at 499:1? Not sure how you can calculate a return as accurate as 0.5%? Backing the Democrats in California and Maryland at 1.01 are a couple I've done today. The chance Trump wins those is alot less than 1%.

Are the 5000 pigs (double over the past year ?) still on the farm, would these be seen as stock - like plants etc in the garden centre or have they all gone off to supermarkets. They are flying past the garden centre right now.

In an attempt to diversify away from p2p a bit I bought 750 RBS shares at 187p I think eventually they'll head north (There is a big £50 Bn discount to balance sheet), but Deutsche/potential DoJ fines are sending them through a big rollercoaster right now

At least this is the 1st charge tranche again, so dramatically better than all the others. That said, I'm now checking out my library card too. Hmm just noticed that, 1st charge is... ok - am now in for a pony.

In the spirit of true risk-taking contrarianship I've thrown as much of the weight of the available £26.34 hanging around in my account as was possible behind it Living the dream

For personal banking, IMO, First Direct are ahead of the game by a country mile, Agreed. I've been with First Direct for 15 odd years now and their service has never been anything other than excellent. Which I can't say about any other bank (or utility company, or local government service, or ..... well, anything really). First Direct is very hassle free (I have my mortgage and a current account with them) Their regular saver is paying 6% this year again, which is nice too. Had no issues with Nationwide, Lloyds, M&S or TSB either to be honest since I've joined them. The cinema tickets from Lloyds are a nice perk
