Isn't £5k the maximum bid limit, not minimum. So anything up top £5k you can bid on that loan.

Eascogo is right of course. The longer the loan goes on the more disadvantaged the sellers of larger bonus paying loans become as the cnv for the loan at 18% is much larger than one at 13% at the 120 or 150 elapsed time to make it come above the 13% on the value list without massive discounts. Also, the bh usually invest early which makes things even worse when selling. When I mention bh I am talking about the handful that drop £100k or £50k on a loan in the minutes after it is posted on every loan. There are not many who could, even by idiotically concentrating all their cash into one or two loans, come close to this for excitement but I do take your point. Hi, would you be able to explain this in laymans terms. I'm confused even after reading this a few times .

Hi all, so l purchased part of a loan on the secondary market. Made like 5p over a few days, now l want to sell this back to the secondary market. My question is does the interest l gain go directly into my account or do l get the interest at the end of the month? Sorry for the really noob question

when you put it like that , it really confuses me how rich someone can be to invest £100,000's on some of these p2p platforms

Well l think its easier to get credit from p2p , there are platforms using the usual credit agencies but also those that loan out with security.

Keeping away from these 3 loans for sure.

Well not to say l'm jealous but rather l was wondering if they are so confident cos they have a better investment strategy than me and was wondering if l could learn something from them.
Of course DD is important and research but from just a psychological angle, it would make me feel alot better if the loans l invest in would have a few BH investing with +£50k sums as well.

I managed to pick up a some yesterday, just happened to login and about 4 loans on SM. Ignored the football stadium. Used up the funds from a repaid loan, and interest. Most the time there has been nothing on the SM. I didn't need a bot. Well done to u , l can't seem to find anything. Do you mind if l ask what time u got it around?

Nothing wrong with it apart from risk. Most p2p investors use spare cash that they can afford to loose a chunk of. Most P2p investors have houses with equity in, spare cash in bank/building society, shares and pensions eg diversification. There is a poll for someone? Is the risk worth say 4%? I am happy to risk for a good 10% return not 4 or 5. In early/mid 2000 people did this. One of colleagues took extra borrowing on his mtge and invested in RBS shares that were a bargain at £7.00 and there are many other stories I am sure. General comment is, if you need to borrow to go into P2P you really should not be in P2P. this is good advice.
