All the media are reporting that another First Minister is about to resign.
If he goes where is the incentive for opposition parties to agree a replacement? Better to have an election where the SNP would bomb, and all the other parties would increase their share of the vote. What a great thing coalition government is.

If they are so hard-nosed right wingers, why did they come up with the Africa policy at all? Why didn't they set up a military-esque branch of the Border Force to patrol in force and simply turn boats around ? If they'd done that they'd probably be looking at election victory in the summer. If the concern is what to do if the migrants are at risk in the sea, why not take a leaf from most land borders? I wouldn't for example try and cross from Poland into Ukraine or into Belarus outside of a border post as I would know there would be serious risk of being shot or at least attacked by a guard dog. Why are people so desperate to get to the UK from Europe that they are willing to risk dying? What is so bad about living in Europe? Serious question. I really don't understand it. if I was stuck in France and couldn't get back to the UK (ever) I would not be so desperate as to get in an inflatable boat and try to cross the channel, at risk of life and limb. Don't think anything is wrong with Eurpoe, if you can get approval to stay (always thought that UK was seen as a soft touch). Sky were talking to illegals who arrived by boat last week, and they had been in Germany for 2 years but were worried about being deported now that their asylum claims had been rejected. So they traveled overland to France and then jumped in a boat to UK to try their luck here.
Got to love the current spat with the Iriah republic. France has shown little interest in stopping the crossings, but when the asylum seekers travel through UK and then into the republic via the open NI border, the Irish government say we must take them back. Maybe they should just hire a boat and send them straight back to France?

Teenaged Indonesia offspinner Rohmalia created a new world record for best bowling figures in women's T20I cricket on Wednesday, when she returned 7 for 0 against Mongolia in their fifth T20I in Bali. That she achieved the feat on her international debut made it all the more special.
Needless to say, Indonesia won by a considerable margin

If Trump wins does anyone know who is favourite to be VP?
I assume Mike Pence is no longer flavour of the month.

That appears to give a lot of power to the single independent MP (who represents Alex Salmond's Alba party) ...having defected from the SNP after losing the leadership election to Yousuf post-Sturgeon. I think she came third.
There was a suggestion that the woman that finished second in the election for leader may not be keen to support Yousuf. I guess if he falls she is in prime position to get the top job.

SNP fortunes continue to go down hill following the collapse of their power sharing agreement with the Greens.
And now there's going to be a vote of no confidence (probably early next week) So the SNP are effectively 1 seat short of a majority in the Scottish parliament. The greens have said they will vote against Yousaf, and you would assume that the Lib dems, Labour and Tories will also vote against. That appears to give a lot of power to the single independent MP (who represents Alex Salmond's Alba party) to twist a few arms.
Will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Visiting Belgium. I didn’t lnow Belgian ATM has terrible default GBP-EUR conversion rate. To only way to avoid poor rate conversion is withdrawing Euro directly from Euro account. HSBC Global money saves my day. How about a prepaid card with Euros on it? Thats what I usually do when I am on holiday in EU land.

Yeh, that certainly sounds like it might deserve some kind of context... If not binning completely. I mean, why unearth Terry and June anyway? It was dire even at the time. What annoys me is that there are plenty of similar warnings before programmes like 'it aint half hot mum', 'Porridge' and 'only fools', but not before 'Citizen Khan' (you know the sitcom where Mr Khan constantly refers to a red headed white man as 'ginger' and when asked what Pakistan was like he said it's the same as Birmingham but but there aren't so many muslims living there).
