Nor ISAs, either! I expect we'll see a wealth tax at some point, not a wealth tax break.

It makes for a great headline grabbing piece but the reality is much different. I have a fairly well diversified IFISA mix of P2P investments & expect a tax free return of around 5% factoring in bad debts. My investments are fairly conservative & I'll be waiting 40 years for my million!

By which time £1m will just about buy you a small carport in Cardiff? Actually IIRC several folks have already cracked the £1m ISA barrier, although they have been lucky, and may have had a head start from PEPs ..

"There were just three ISA millionaires in 2012 on the Hargreaves Lansdown’s site in 2012. Today, there are 168 investors with £1m or more in their ISAs, the group revealed." www.yourmoney.com/investing/isa-millionaire-secrets-revealed/ (article 28/2/2018) and that's just HL

I was going to put something away for my son's uni fees, but I guess it'll have to be Stock 'n Shares (after Brexit, though).

I was going to put something away for my son's uni fees, but I guess it'll have to be Stock 'n Shares (after Brexit, though). Unless your son is unusually wealthy for his age, or has a very lucrative paper round, there’d be no tax advantage to sheltering loans in an IFISA anyway. Very few under-18s earn enough to pay income tax. However, as soon as they turn 18, there’s much to be gained by feeding £4000 a year into a Lifetime ISA, getting the 25% Govt bonus each year, to start them towards a house deposit. Under the current structure for university funding, there is no point whatsoever paying university fees upfront. Much wiser to have them take out the maximum available Student Loan (which they only start repaying once theyre earning over £25k, IIRC) and keep investing into their LISA (and then ISA if you’re giving them more than £4k per year) Prior to them turning 18, I’d suggest either a S&S JISA or, if you really want to use P2P loans, create them a notional account with “Bank of Dad”, lend their money in your own name and credit them with whatever interest you feel fair. Incidentally, Interactive Investor charge no extra fees for running one or more JISAs alongside an existing account. I imagine other fund supermarkets may be the same.

Does anyone know whether the AC ISA is a flexible ISA or not, so I can withdraw funds from the ISA and then redeposit to take advantage of the next bonus offer?
I can't see anything in the t&c's, mainly because I can't see any t&c's, only the rather enigmatic question, 'How do flexible ISAs work?', all interesting stuff like but doesn't actually say whether the ISA is flexible or not.
Anyone with any experience of flexibilitating?

I withdrew £500 from my Assetz IFSA and my current year remaining subscription limit is displayed as £20,500, meaning I can replace the £500 before starting on this year's 20k allowance.
