Thank you Mrclondon. I do understand the need to vet users who wish to have access, but I can’t help thinking this is an odd policy that might invite perverse outcomes. I am not a financial expert but I do (very regrettably) have quite a bit tied up in P2P. As such, I have little to contribute that others would find particularly insightful, but I myself find the content here a critically helpful resource. Selfish perhaps! But nonetheless the policy does tend to discriminate against us genuine lurkers, but favours some of the more verbose ranters.

I do empathise with you but I don't see what else the mods can do? The 50 post thing has its issues but is probably the best they can do.
Maybe (just maybe) for those who want to get in quickly and bypass the requirement maybe one idea could be for photo ID of name and address so that they know who you are. Even then though a genuine person could provide genuine ID and their home address but still not declare that they are working for a company that has business related to one or more loans.

Aside from the DP implications, I expect the administrative process of seeking proof of ID and address etc would be too burdensome for (presumably) volunteer mods.
However, I always like to question what exactly the desired outcome is of any process in assessing it’s value. I’m afraid I am unclear what the desired outcome of DD is (presumably something about restricting someone/something from seeing something they shouldn’t or that the writer doesn’t want them to see) and even less clear about how posting 50 comments of perceived ‘value’ shifts someone from the “should not see” to the “permitted to see” category. If I’m honest, it all seems a little flimsy. But hey ho - I believe I’ve now reached 50 posts (fanfare) so I should probably turn my attention elsewhere and just get over it.
